He doesn't know what condensation is because he's in texas, doesn't know what cold weather is, only drives new vehicles on the lot, and the OP has a 6 year old 2010.

Not all new vehicles are driven for a couple miles in very cold weather.
My test drives on the trucks I have bought have been like 40 miles. I don't just drive it around the block and say "I'll take it".

Your experience is not the only truth. Scientific fact has never been founded on a sample size of one or you for that matter.

The engines have been around since 2004 (2002 for the V6). Considering how many members here are over 200k, the engines are considered well-proven:

Oil sludge occurs if you don't change your oil over 60k. (Yes there are a couple of documented cases of such abuse for the Tacoma as well, one of the risks of buying a used vehicle without maintenance records...)

I live less then a mile from work in a verry high humidity area along the Columbia river. I have had this since I bought the truck in 2009. The oil can Henry guys try to sell me a crank case flush every time I go in lol.

I have heard about that. Bacteria grows, becomes stronger....one day, you are wandering along, listening to tunes in your truck and the f-ing thing becomes a huge transformer. Watched a whole documentary on it. Course, it DID happen to a yellow Camaro, but I am pretty sure they eats sushi based bacteria too.....

Long filler neck is the reason, short trips just make it a touch worse.

What does warm water vapor do when it contacts something cold?

Yep, in condenses into liquid water.

What part of your engine will be the coldest?

Yep, the bottom of the oil cap, which sits on a long, plastic tube.

Cars with the oil cap right on valve covers don't have this issue.

Its normal and that fill tube sure makes it a hell of a lot easier to add the oil.
