The talk of Black Bear pass had me rooting through dozens of shoe boxes in search of pics of the trail. Haven't found them yet but I did find some that I thought were worth sharing. All of these were scanned from old photos.

    Greetings.

back in '03. Had just removed the old 345 and 4 speed in preparation for a Chevy 350 swap.
No pics of the swap sadly.

    Grand Lake Colorado.

Somewhere in Colorado. That's Oreo in the back, Archers predecessor.

Moab shortly after i bought the truck.

The quarry at the top of Moody Hill.

2nd trip through the Quarry that day.

@Squeaky Penguin was closer to conquering this than he knew.
    The Chutes at Kelly Flats..

Carnage Canyon. I doubt anybody will ever get to drive this trail again.

    Widowmaker.

I think this was Poison Spider.

    Metal Masher.

    Above Silverton. Before Tacoma World.

The A frame in the back was for canoe transport.

Top of Black Bear Pass, during re-construction of the downhill side so it's not been down it.

    No particular order with these...

I came close to getting my ass kicked that day.

    Mod day long ago.
I was welding up a cracked frame on the Bronco.

    and butchering a smaller bronco.

This picture made me realize how long I have been here. That sapling is a full size tree now. Little blue Scoupe was mine too. thing was like a go cart.

And before..notice the Scout in the garage...this was before starting my business.

Me. Before the weight of the world gave me wrinkles. I was a handsome devil.

California. First time in my life to see and set foot in the ocean. Damn I was good lookin.

The dent in the Scout that caused me to cut the back off.

    The original Rockstomper.

But wait, there's more. And we are going back in time now...
I can tell because in this pic I was still runnin 32's and it hadn't been rolled yet.

The little yellow and blue kids raft...
an hour after this pic was taken me and the guy in the pic were in the middle of that lake (Taylor Reservoir) and paddling for our lives as 4' swells were tossing us around. friggen unstable Colorado weather.

found another shot of this guy.

    lower end of Alpine Tunnel.

    more on the way.

    And again at Alpine Tunnel.

There is a name for that rock wall, the Palisades I think.

not a clue where this is.

    Animas Forks. ?

Dilligaf making an assault on the Chutes. Notice how the body and bumper line up.

It was a special kind of flexy. He didn't make it either.

At one time, I had that old 72 clean aside from the dent in the passenger door.
New fenders, floor, couple gallons of Bondo and a fresh coat of paint had her looking pretty svelte. The I rolled it a few months later.

Back when I gave a damn and still volunteered regularly for trail host duty.

how did this get in here.

    death defying.

    Still have the bird.

Actually I think this is Animas Forks.

There was not one single body panel that was straight on it. You couldn't find a more perfect vehicle to explore the mountains with.

So its Alpine tunnel part of the current Hancock Pass trail?

Your pics have put it on my list of stuff to run.
