This is my build/bs thread for my Taco and Tundra:
I got the 2015 Tundra TRDPro Febuary of 2015 from Vallejo Toyota.
I got the 2000 Tacoma xtra cab from my father in law that passed away from colon cancer in mid March 2015.

    First the tacoma:
I got it at 170k ish from the first and only owner..It needed some love from sitting a while.
    image.jpg
BFG KO Tires were cracking so that needed replacing. It needed a full tune up
So I bought an oem timing belt kit with extras..
Also bought oem front pads, valve cover gaskets, cam seals, radiator, and flushed all the fluids out.

Suspension is looking tired so upgraded to
    5100 billies all around
With eibach 620 coils and rear deaver aal

    image.jpg image.jpg

Put in my CB setup. Got the lil wil magnet whip and a midland 75-822 that I can swap between rigs for different adventures!
    image.jpg

Took it out on the clear lake run with some folks on here. Performed better than I expected. Definitely need to show some attention to my bushings/axles after the run I can see they were showing some age and probably didn't like the new angles they were being put in.

Great trip! And great to meet new folks!!
Right after this run I picked up a RAT front skid, and did my diff breather mod.

    image.jpg
Behind the driver tail. Don't worry it's not pinched. It was actually a perfect spot to put it as it holds up by it self and the breather stays upright.

Removed my steps because it was rattling like crazy and it was time to get ready for some sliders.
    image.jpg

Did the "grey wire elocker anytime" mod, really cool and easy mod.
    image.jpg image.jpg

Little cosmetics; got the 2002 and up center console with real cup holders. Re-finished my grille and compound/polished my headlights.
Tough decision keeping the chrome, but I'll just paint it later on when I de-chrome the rest of the taco.

Now to start with the Tundra Pro.
This was my first new car ever. Coming from a background of messin with Honda swaps and Lexus' I've always wanted a Tundra since the first gens.
Main purpose for the Tundra was to tow my civic to the track, but that ended up selling because I had a little halt in my career.

Here was the original rig I checked out before she said, " you should get what you always wanted."
    image.jpg
And then the hunting went on..
here is the Tundra when me and my fiancé picked it up!!

Mini d2s with Apollo shrouds. Kinda wish I bit the bullet and got the ls460 projector for the more authentic oem look and cutoff. This is one of my favorite mods for all the cars I've owned.

Crappy part was that fedex dropped this off but the rest of my set was at the hub!!!..
Next day I called my delivery guy and he said he didn't have anything in the truck for me.. So I call him again the following day and says he doesn't have it in the truck again!!
FedEx says in transit.. So I call him one more time to ask if he might know who has em. He gets back to me in 2 minutes and says another driver has it and told me to go pick em up! I dropped everything and hit that gas to meet him at his location. Antsy me I guess. Always get like this when I don't my parts on time especially when everything was planned out day by day a week in advance.

That rusty rear cap really did bug me. I didn't want to run the fn centers because the screws was silver (getting black screws ordered)and the cap just wasn't appealing to me.

Welp I decided to buy some front hub grease caps and modify them to fit the rear.
    Came out pretty good.

I am sure I missed a ton of things.. I have a lot planned for both rigs. Just so hard to decide which one gets what..
For now I'm gonna focus on the tundra maybe get some more armor because I will be taking a trip from San Jose to Sedona to Moab to Vegas in early September!

Tundra cleaned up! Also got a free hid kit from my buddy. Decided to run them for a bit until I pull the trigger on a retrofit kit.

Got a undercover flex off craigslist for a steal! Reconditioned it and brought some life back to it, but it does the job! Just need to redo some weather stripping getting a bit of leak towards the tailgate.

So it was inevitable.. 190k of axles lift @188k.. 3 wheeling trips..Boots weren't to happy. With the new angles.
    image.jpg

So I bought some used hi angle booted Inners, oem axles, and turned out one bearing slipped off the tripod. 1 was rebuilt. The other one and a couple thousand miles on them.
    image.jpg
Long story short and a sh*t ton of mess.. had to rebuild and reboot. Came out good. Just checked my clamp earlier today and looks like I can tighten a bit more as grease is seeping out..
I trashed my old axles so gonna turn em in for some duralast golds and reboot those. I plan to boot slide mod both inner on the next project.
Thanks to @akamrkent for this write up and helping me out!

image.jpg You can see the bearing that came off the lobe.. And all those roller pins(not sure what they are called) are all over in the boot.

Outer needed to be replaced it had some seaping. Grease from age cracks. Bought a oem kit. And replaced just outer kept inner for emergencies.

Finished product. I used a thermostat gasket on the inner boot to keep the fins a little gapped when flexed.
Headache rushing this stuff and ran through a good amount of band clamps.. Next time I'll be using ear clamps and taking my time..
But happy how it turned out and it's on the road again!
