Have seen Blackstone Labs oil analysis mentioned in several threads that people were going to try it out. So now I'm wondering has anyone actually used blackstone and are they willing to share (perhaps post a photo or upload) their results?

    Just curious.

I don't have a 3rd Gen but have been thinking of trying Blackstone for my next change of the Truck and Mustang just for curiosity sake.

Yeah part of me wonders if it's like one of those DNA testing outfits, where you pay $xxx for them to tell you you're "60% welsh, 20%german, etc" when in reality they have really no clue and they're just pumping smoke up your ass

Ive used blackstone for years, they send you the kit for free and you pay when you send the sample. I used it on all my diesels until I bought my taco and will use it for my taco whenever my free oil changes are up at 25k miles. They send you the analysis and explain what anything out of the ordinary could possibly be, I am a firm believer.

I used it on my STi every oil change. They advised when to change my air filter and kept my fears of spun bearings at bay.

Yeah its good info if nothing else they can tell when the oil you use is starting to break down wnd if you change at 5k miles and the oil is still great can advise you how long it should be good for. depending on how much you drive it could save you some cash.

I had a turbo hatchback before my Tacoma and used Blackstone several times. They're legit. They're widely known and used. They'll be able to clue in when things are failing and give you a heads up beforehand. Or, they'll let you know if you're doing fine.

I haven't but a friend of mine uses them on his Subaru annually. I was thinking of using them at my first oil change (10k), I estimate I'll put between 10-12k on annually so it wouldn't be too expensive to have it checked at every change if the interval is 10k.

Here is my results at 45,000kM odo (28,000 miles) after a 20 day, 10,000kM (6,200 mile) road trip. We averaged 500kM (300 miles) a day on all types of terrain, with about 1/2 of the trip on gravel. Oil was changed before the trip, and sampled at the end.
