So I got this today:



TC Coil bucket gusset kit. Apparently a "pain in the dick" to install but I intend to enlist the assistance of our friend PSU Taco.
I'll be hitting the trails soon too - intend to make a day trip to Rausch next weekend and then hit it again with another group in late October.


As for mods, I'm pretty much on hold until I can get some time in with Ant to pay attention to the bumpers. The front still needs to be adjusted for the Body Lift which should be rather simple but I'd like to get a few filler plates welded in. The rear needs some serious attention since it's all twisted on the drivers side from losing the tire prior to the Moab trip. I need to tweak it back into shape and also pay some attention to the swingout. Due to a combination of the tire weight, Jerry cans, and backing into shit it has seen better days. A few well-placed gussets should do the trick.
I also need to pay some attention to the frame - the surface rust is getting a bit excessive. I hope to blast it and coat it out with the same product that Jerry @loosnut used on his.
At the rate I'm going I'll get another year out of my 35's. Once they are ready to be replaced I'll look at 37's.
The cab mount relo kit is sitting ready to go when the time comes.
I'll eventually need to swap out these foxes too - probably go with standard icons or kings w/out the resi's.

 

If you are gusseting the coil buckets consider some of @dirt designs coil bucket hats that you can make a crossover brace for. I've done both and can tell the difference.

Ha, and I'm pacing the floor waiting for my new camper trailer to ship to me. Come spring I might be listing the FlipPac if the trailer does everything I hope it will.

 

You won't have a problem unloading the flippac.

 

I'm not one to fret over pinstripes but the last trip out was a bit excessive. While showing Mark @NwiTACO around Centralia I got a bit too close to a dead branch and it bit the drivers side pretty good:



Bad enough to require some wet-sanding and the buffer... turned out pretty good:



Threw some soap & water at it too:



$10 says it will now rain within 24hrs.

 

If it does then I'm going to need you to come to my house and I will help you wash it again. We could use some rain!

From yesterday. Good numbers.

 

Started out at 6am this morning and took the whole family to Rausch Creek. We hit Tatas, 23, & a few other assorted trails. Stayed off the blacks so MrsTACO would not yell at me.
Great time though.







We left around 3pm and took the kids to the Ashville Coal Mine tour - train ride up the Mountain and a ride into the mine on a coal car. They had a blast!

Had five guys burgers for dinner back in Hamburg and got a stop in to Cabelas too.
