Ours are designed with a 25 degree up slope on the outer tube of the slider, but the steps are still at 0 degrees. There is about a 3 1/2" wide stepping surface at the front and it increases to about 5" at the back where the kick out is. They can easily be used as a step to help get in the vehicle, but they are most beneficial for those using them to access their roof rack or bedrack.
So to answer your main question, ours are not awkward to use as a step since they sit at 0 degrees and have the traction aiding upside down dimple dies.

I would like to thank everyone for their input. Just wanted to let you know that I decided to go with the Mobtown sliders. The Labor Day sale pushed me over the edge. Thank you to all the vendors who participated and discussed the unique details of your products, as well as the recommendations from other TW members. This was not an easy decision but I think I will be happy at the end of the day.

I'm happy with my bolt on CBI sliders, have them on both Tacos. You can get them with or without the kickouts.

The only thing I wonder about is someone back a few pages mentioned he was worried about frame damage by using a frame mounted sliders. My thoughts were if you were T boned by a car that may project the truck and possibly causing a roll over in the event of this type of accident. The crumple zone of the sheetmetal would be gone, but in a lowere speed collision, offer more protection.

I'm not sure this is really an issue, but it would be a problem for all sliders including weld on sliders.

I know this isnt the greatest picture showing the sliders, but so far its the only one we have of our sliders installed on an ACLB. We would love to see a set of our sliders on your ACLB as well!

I'm digging the design of the @Mobtown Offroad sliders. They will be my next upgrade.

Glad you like it. We put a lot of thought into the structural design of it. Look forward to working with you in the future.

This thread is awesome and makes me sad that I missed the labor day sales.

Anyone have a picture of the mobtown sliders with fill plate at 0 degrees showing how much is usable as a step (similar to what was shown in post 105 for the C4's). My kid and short friends need more of a step.

@jowybyo or @Mobtown Offroad, How far out would 0 degree stick out for with and without kickout? Shipping cost to 27511 (and terminal)? Is lead time still 3-4 weeks +2 for powder coat? Do you offer line-x (I want the texture)?

They stick approx 3/4" past the crown of the door.

We will not Line-X. It does not adhere to our standards. We have a set on the shelf currently that a guy had Line-X and it was peeling in spots before we even installed them. So he left them and we are fixing them up.

We are going to entertain a deal for this weekend only. Minimum 5 orders, buy sliders with fill plates and powder coat and shipping will be $50 anywhere in the US (excludes Hawaii and Alaska). This can be a huge saving considering shipping can be upwards of $200.

Lead times have been extended some. We are looking at 6-8 weeks, add 2 more to that with powder coat.
