I think I have made a solid decision on my lift setup. I also want to install an AAL in the rear, but I have a quick question.
What is the difference between these 2 pacakages? I know that one includes more parts, but are they needed?

Also, I was planning on setting the front 5100s at 2.5. I would like to hear some opinions on how that will affect the ride. I've heard from both ways. (Terrible to Great)

the multi-leaf "replaces" your bottom overload leaf, whereas the single goes in along with the rest of the pack

those shocks are probably the #1 used for lifts. setting your front to 2.5" may create a stiffer ride but if you're using factory springs maybe not. I'll let someone else chime in on that

So, would the first or second option be better if I have stock coils... Also idk if it makes a difference if I have non-TRD truck.

TRD doesn't matter. You had someone spoon feed you all the info other day. Maybe on this you can call the company and ask them which of the two would be better for your truck?
It looks better and will likely help you get more opinions and help if you were to try and do some of the work yourself, you could then say, "okay so I called wheelers and they said that this would be the best option for my truck. Has anyone used these and did you have good results?"

I'm just unsure of whether or not I need the parts that come in the expensive package.

What is the most reliable company and is it possible to just message them or email them because I very rarely have the time to make a phone call because of schooling and work

You have time to message on a forum but can't make a 5 minute phone call?
You could post what they suggest and actually help someone here in the future by leaving info.
I don't have anything to help, so good luck.
Edit: you're likely to get more help when the good folks here have seen that you're willing and have done some of the leg work. That's the point I was getting at.

Trds have progressive coils that ride rougher when preloaded with 5100s.

It sounded like his question was in reference to the add a leaf links that he posted and asked about. TRD won't matter with what he asked.
Either way, I didn't know the TRD stock coils were progressive. Good to know.

your right. my bad. cant keep track at this point. but yes non trd coils have been known to ride better with the 5100s. 5100s are still considered cheap and the you get what you pay for rule still applies to them when it comes to ride quality.

op get the progressive leaf pack if your even asking about which one rides better. even though it was already said that you should get and linked in the other thread.

No worries man, I hear that, I hear it. We're all just trying to help. That was the most I'd ever seen someone help actually step by step on a forum, lol. And you saw what happened... Came back for more spoon feeding. How's that saying go? Give a man a fish, feed him for a day, teach a man to fish...... Hahahaha. You're a good dude with a lot of knowledge, I'm sure many appreciate your input, myself included.

I have close to what you are wanting to get. 2.5" in the front and AAL in the rear. I have the (1) add - a - leaf. Adjustable Toytec Coilovers with the height adjustable Bilstein shocks. It rides really well, doesn't make your kidneys bleed and I can fit 32" tires just perfectly with no rubbing at all. I have a 98 Xtra cab. I have it set at 2" in the front actually because I don't want to destroy anything up front (ball joints, CV axles etc.) I also installed the XFER case drop kit. Saves the CV boots that are natorious for ripping on a lifted Taco.

    Too few to list.
Setting at 2.5 will be stiff. Also, I have the multi-leaf AAL and I think it's too soft. I'd stick to just the single AAL especially if you're gonna preload the coils. I suggest you spend the money you save with going with a single AAL and buy coils.

How stiff will it be because I would actually like it to be stiffer than stock because right now my truck is kind of floaty or bouncy when I hit longer bumps.

at 2.5, it will be really stiff. It's ok at 1.75". Before I traded in my 2011, I took the OME coils out and set the 5100's to 2.5 and it was really stiff that on an up travel, the coil barely compressed. Before the coils, I had it set at 1.75".

I know that was a 2nd gen but I'm pretty sure it will be the same for a 1st gen.
