Thanks for the tip! I did scuff before hand, but then I went to straight to regular primer. Where can I find a good etching primer?

Should have at any good auto parts store. I think autozone has it in their paint section.

Sweet, thanks! I'll have to give it another go once the weather gets warm again.

Weird pattern. Looks like something dirty was placed against the truck, then it was lowered, then lifted. That would explain the V pattern of scratches. Where were you parked?

Yes I had mine there at first but I had nothing to hold it in place from moving around. Tried dbl sided tape which didnt hold so I moved it. That is a good spot.

I found very similar marks in the same spot on my old Ford Ranger one day when I got home from work, I was pissed. Found out the next day that my boss had backed into my truck with sticks hanging out the back of his truck, he offered to pay for the repairs. I am guessing that's what happened here, something sticking out of the back of someones truck and backed into you. Sorry man, hit and runs are the worst.

Swapped out the regular breather from when I re-routed the diff breather to a proper filter. 11$ going to swap the front breathers into a filter box hopefully before winter hits and salt gets everywhere
