Awesome thread Good to see Freedom of the Hills in there. Great reference/book. I think I've read it three times cover to cover.

 

Good stuff in there! I'm a Paramedic and that book is the gold standard for SAR out here.

Baofeng UV-5R as well to get started, do you like it and how hard is it to program? I read reviews saying it was really hard and I don't know the first thing about programming HAMs, Got the cable to hook it up to my Mac mini. Do you also have a HAM mounted into your truck? If so what do you recommend.

I left out all of the locking mechanism pics to help maintain security. Nothing will keep people from getting what you want if they want if bad enough but my setup will certainly delay them for at least an hour!!

Original Sport tires/wheels sold to another Taco owner - made his SR5 look so much better!



Originally went with spacers as a band-aid fix for my desire to have a better stance. Ended up taking the dive and went with SCS Ray10's and 265/70/17. Some rub on stock suspension at full stuff (driveways and off road)







Full droop = about a 4-6" lift!! Geez it looked so good at this height!






Blacked out the badges...good ol' Plastidip!







Got the Qi charge adapter for iPhone (gets the phone HOT and slow charge) and obtained a back up (well known to fail for certain VIN's) Cam Shaft Position Sensor. I will not be stranded off-road with no tow available because of this little guy!





Really pleased with the WEATHERTECH's!!! The high molding provides superior coverage!

My all-time favorite modification to my Tacoma to date!!

This little addition reminds me every day why I work and what I'm working for.
Life is truly short and I have been blessed with the position only recently to be able to afford my dream truck.
It's also my daily so this decal is in my face constantly.
It helps me refocus and is a great reminder of the adventures to come!!

Today's project...getting fuel supply on lockdown. 8 gal capacity for the MTNHABT.

Plan is to keep 2 gal at all times for folks stranded on local freeways...it happens a lot out here with all of the commuters.

The other 6 gals will be rotated into the tank on a regular basis. This is partially for prepping needs as well.

Not many are aware: No power = No pumps!
