Because of the color, and I have been referred to as a bear, both good and bad, so it just seems to fit.

I will say it was nice of them to slap a dealer plate on it so my wife could go in after work to finish up with her signature.

OK, thanks for stopping by. Little info sharing, this truck although will do some logging road and a little trail driving, it is my daily driver, all 20 miles round trip. Went from an access cab to the double cab as the kids are just too dam big for the AC.

Although I would love to mod the shit out of this, it ain't happen. 1-Money, just can not find that dam tree. 2-With the known concerns with the 3rd Generation Tacoma, I want to maintain and give no reason for Toyota to refuse the warranty stuff. 3-I am cheap and don't often spend money I don't have to.

    And now the Truck.

    IMG_1432.jpg

2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4 Double Cab, v6 6 speed manual transmission. Magnetic Gray Metallic (FD15), final assembly in San Antonio, Texas Model 7543A

    My deal-
    Invoice MSRP

    Y - Sport Package - Included in Price............... $ ----- | $ -----
    EE - Entune Premium Audio............................ $ ----- | $ -----
    FE - 50 State Emissions.............................. $ 0 | $ 0
    TO - Towing Package.................................. $ 579 | $ 650
    DR - Roof Rail (w/ Crossbars)........................ $ 279 | $ 399
    MF - Mudguards....................................... $ 80 | $ 129
    R2 - 5" Oval Tube Step Black......................... $ 320 | $ 469
    2T - All Weather Liner Plus Door Sill Protectors..... $ 139 | $ 209
    Delivery Fee 940 940

Invoice sub total $32,979, Trade 13,500. Less trade $19,479. Maine Sales Tax $1,071.35, Tax included subtotal $20,550. Vehicle Admin Fee $499, Reg Fee $34 for an Out The Door $21,083
MSRP sub total $35,871, Trade 13,500. Less trade 22,371. Maine Sales Tax $1,230.41, Tax included subtotal $23,601. Vehicle Admin Fee $499, Reg Fee $34 for an Out The Door $24,134
    The Deal I agreed to.
MSRP sub total $35,871, Discount $2,569 Sub Total $33,232. Trade $13,500 Less trade $19,732 Maine Sales Tax $1,085.26, Tax included subtotal $20,817.26. Vehicle Admin Fee $499, Reg Fee $34 for an Out The Door $21,350.

Based on invoice- I am $253 over, with all fees and taxes $267 over invoice. Now the bonus, in an attempt to buy higher survey scores, another $300 was taken off, and the dealership is mailing me a check for $300. This puts me at $32 below invoice before taxes and $34 after.

    Traded on 4-9-2022, $28,700. $32,979 - $28,700 = $4,270 Cost for 5 years 5 months, and some days.

Nice congrats on the new truck. like the color, love the fact its MT. Going from the 4cyl to v6 do you grin when you hit the throttle? lol

A little, still to new to get in to the throttle, but I can not wait for some snow to play in, then the summer when I go up north and play on the logging roads. My almost 13 year old son keeps asking to see how fast it will go, so I give it just enough to get pushed back in your seat and say I don't know. He smiles.

Thanks, it's MT that I like the most, color is meh, I would rather had my timberland mica green, or even the pro cement. Out of the options available, this was the best.

Need to get some lumber and pellets this past weekend, so photo op.

    IMG_1523.jpg
So the trailer currently is nothing special, but the plan for the spring is to add a custom boat rack. It will be able to be set up to store the boats when not on the trailer, or set up on the trailer for the camping and boating trips. Currently we own 1 canoe and 2 kayaks, but also store and use 2 other yaks for a friend, one being a double, at some point I will have to put up photos of the 09 headed to camp. But anyways, I figure the truck is Smokey and the trailer is the bear as it will carry most of the weight when we go camping.
    IMG_1524.jpg
    IMG_1525.jpg
Skid is 2k of pellets, so load is 2k plus. No issues pulling at all, with the 09 watching the gas gauge was like watching a thirsty 12 year old suck down a soda, not with the the v6 17. Very happy with this upgrade.

When I park in a parking lot or what not, I have always like finding brand parking lot, well being a taco fan and my son's expanding discussion of them, when I parked next to one yesterday, I decide to take a quick shot of them.

So begining of the week I met up with @ACEkraut. Nice chats, but the best part was, while my truck was sitting in his driveway he felt urge to ensure I had a place to put on a license plate. Guess he was annoyed I didn't have one on.

It was too dark when he was done, so I took a few photos when there was light.

    image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

I got vanity plates coming so I still don't have a front plate, but to see what it will look like.

    image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

I got work on getting some paint and color it up some.

So I went looking for more/ different "smokey"s to add to the Entune system, found some interesting things that made me chuckle and also need a way to save them till I can get them to the usb stick. So I'll share.
