Thats a crazy reason to not get the 2.0's, sounds like your very mis informed. they adjust fine any coil over you should always jack the truck up let suspension droop to adjust the collar. you have to remove the added weight of the veh. that is normal on any coilover on a truck , atv..whatever.

I was just going off of what fox told me and others have said, they reccommend you take the load off of the spring before adjusting the collar.

That being said, I ordered them.

Yea, I've read a few stories of people stripping their 2.0s trying to adjust them like "any coil over". One vendor said you have to use a spring compressor to make adjustments. I'll pass, and just go with Kings. Buy once cry once kind of thing.

I have Bilstein 6112 and they're as good as the day I bought them, a fellow friend of mine has Fox and they've corroded really badly over time. Moral of the story, If you live in an area that has 4 seasons and lots of moisture, stay away from Fox.

The 6112 is tuned exactly for the truck and has a bigger piston so would run cooler thwn 2.0 as well. Def cheaper as well.

I got my Fox 2.0 front coilovers in yesterday and I must say i'm impressed with my initial inspection. They're alot nicer and beefier than I expected. Everything is machined and threaded, ZERO welds that I can see. The bottom shaft and eyelit is very stout and machined as all one piece. Putting them on shortly, i'll report back on the ride quality.

This is all i've got right now, i'll take some better pictures this weekend if I put them on. I'll be sure to take a side by side with the stock TRD 4600's.

Is it true the Fox will only provide a maximum of 1" lift on a 3rd gen?

I believe the understanding is that 2" is max on the 2.0's while maintaining the full ride quality. Their's plenty more threads to go higher than the preset 2" but then you're preloading the spring and sacrificing ride quality. I've seen people's set to 3" of lift so it's been done. I could be wrong about this though.

I did notice that at the preset 2" height, at full droop their was like 1/4" of room between the UCA and the coil spring, i'm not sure if you went higher if that would cause the UCA to hit. Someone else might know the answer to that.

For your purposes on a 3rd gen, I think you'll only get 1 inch out of them. 2 inches is the 2nd gen lift if I'm correct.

Ahh... I missed the 3rd gen part. If it were me and I were you i'd get the 6112's built for the 3rd gen or something else specific to the 3rd gen. I think the 3rd gen's weight more and I think they use different valving than 2nd gen shocks.

    Good luck with it.
