Here you go. Just a fyi, if you get iirc 5/8" od tubing it'll fit snug in the fill hole, and you can just route it up through the engine bay if you have enough and then you don't need the stupid bottle pump

Yup. Sounds about right. Sucks most of the shops are on the west coast and not the right coast

 

Screw the bottle pump! Just buy an extra quart, stick the nipple end in the fill port of the diff and squeeze the shit out of the bottle. With the extra quart, you can get enough out of the bottle using that method to fill the diff.

That's the method I used!

I'm looking to do some steering rack bushing replacement on my truck in the next couple weeks! anyone else need it done?
I figure maybe we can team up, grab a 6 pack and do some truck work and have an extra truck to grab parts or find out "where does this bolt go again?".

Anyone?

my truck was wandering a lot on th e highway. But the blown bearing was more of a problem than the totally screwed steering rack bushings.

 

Yeah pretty much. He put all that on and he said he had enough to do all 4 doors and the rear wall. Pretty good coverage for package #1

What's it doing now that you replaced the bearing?

 

Yep... saw that. I got my box on Wednesday, and made it home before the wife too by the way, to not hear shit about it.

Haven't opened it yet, but seemed a bit heavy so not really worried about it.

 

I haven't done it before, but interested. Still trying to figure out my steering problem. Last time I drove to Burlington, it was a 4hr drive for me.

My wheel bearings are good, tie rods have no play, pump sounds normal, vehicle tracks straight when I let go of the wheel. Steering just seems sloppy while driving, and I get more feedback from the road.

Also, why does power steering fluid exist, when it seems every vehicle uses ATF fluid for steering??

It doesn't exist on my truck No power steering pump either, I got none of that bullshit.

 

I had a car without power steering. Wasn't bad till it came time to parallel park.

 

I have power steering, just no pump.

Yep, all electric. I guess the HD trucks still have traditional power steering but everything Ford sells that F150 sized or smaller has electric power steering.

 

Remind me, anyone have the stock 16" rims? Buddy of mine is looking. @DoubleRGirl didn't you have takeoffs?
