I am a new member, and thought I had posted something on the "wheel and Tire" forum section, but evidently didn't show up so I'll try again.
I use a '05 Prerunner with a wrap that I use to advertise my business, which is manufacturing shock-mitigation for boats. I wanted to draw more attention to the truck by doing a 2.5-3" lift, AAL and a new set of wheels and tires. I currently have the Enkei WT4 x 20" wheels with 275x55x20 Bridestone Grappler tires, which don't rub even with stock suspension except for the driver's side mudflap due to the Taco lean. Thinking of Fuel Trophy D552 20" or SCS Matte Grey Ray 10's, but they seem to be limited in respect to availability and sizes. I would even consider stepping "down" to an 18" wheel (maybe not a 17"), but SCS doesn't appear to offer that in a 6 lug. I'm looking to eliminate the bling or chrome look, and would like a more rigged stance. All driving is on pavement and comfort is also important. Any positive suggestions or comments are welcome. Thanks.IMG_2902.jpgIMG_2901.jpg

Thank you ODNAREM for your reply. I was thinking OME 885 with Bilstein 5100 and a 3 leaf progressive AAL. I have been reading the various topics on lifts, and will probably give Headstrong a call soon to verify. Just returned from lift shop who carries Fuel wheels, and probably go with the D552 Trophy Anthracite with black ring in a 18x9 with zero offset. Picture doesn't do the spoke color any justice as it actually looks more deep grey rather than bronze.IMG_2905.jpg

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I frankly hadn't considered spindles and don't know if they come in lower heights than 4" as I need to retain some functionality getting stuff in and out of the bed. Drive-ability and reliability is also a concern, as this is my DD. I did visit TacomaOffCourse's build thread, and it sure looks like a mean, purposeful and impressive truck. Also looks like a lot of work went into it to get it that way. Great job - but alas, I need to stay somewhat more conservative. I'll start posting the progress in my decision making (read spending) as I go along. I feel I can do the lift easily enough as I still have good tires and wheels, then pull the trigger on the latter, and then go into grill, some kind of side rail steps, and maybe a sport hood and light armor front and back.

nice truck! I did that lift to my 06. It's great so far in the front. Wish I would've went with replacement leaf pack on the rear like Dakar. The add a leaf will sag over time especially if you're constantly loading it. Headstrong will steer you in right direction. Also the 884s might be better. It's a bit shorter. My 885s are almost too high for me.

How much did the 885's raise your front? I still have clearance with a stock suspension running 275x55x20 tires except a little rubbing when I back out of the drive way. The truck actually has 188,000 miles on it, and the rear leafs look a little flat, so I'm sure it could use a little freshening up. The truck has been great to me so far- very reliable but seeking a little better stance and attention. I like the stance of your truck BTW. What size wheels/tire combo do you run? Thanks.

sorry for the late response! it raised my front 3 inches. My rear went up 1.5" with the add-a-leaf. Running 265/70/17. Will go slightly bigger next time around. They look a little small from the side with this big lift up front. Honestly a 2.5" lift is all anyone should need. If I can do it all over i'd go w/ either OME 884 + Add a leaf or keep my 885 + Dakar leaf pack. Either is a great value. Someone else mentioned spindle lift. That works too and Marie has that option.

That was great feedback as I believe you also just saved me a bunch of money! I looked at the Level 8 MK6's which are advertised for $165/each (Discount Tire Direct) instead of the $260/each for the 18" Fuel wheels. They look great on your truck which is basically like mine. I like the Matte Gunmetal finish to offset the silver truck, and is different than the black centers of most wheel you see. I also went on their Facebook page, and there are lots of pictures available to get some great ideas. Thanks for the great lead.

No problem. Yeah that's why I went with the gunmetal matte as well. I customized the center caps they sent me by rubbing off their logo with acetone and ordering TRD decals from a member on here. There's an official thread about these wheels here on this site where you'll find the details

I also learned on their FB page about using TRD center caps which will evidently bolt right up, but a good decal should also do the job and probably for a lot less. Thanks again.

Yep that's another good route. But all I can find was red letters. I needed black.
