    Hey TW,

I am wondering if any of you 3rd gen guys/gals are experiencing the same issue. I have the upgraded JBL sound system - which is AMAZING - however my driver's side door rattles non stop. I've honed in on the cause and it seems to be the window buttons / locks that are moving.
Have any of you tried to add dynomat in there to make it rattle less? Or is there perhaps an easier way to fix this??

    Thanks!

My driver side window rattles a bit when its halfway open. My wife's CX-5 does it as well but not as noticeable.

It isnt the window rattling, its the plastic pieces on the inside of the door caused by the bass from the stereo

Maybe a wire that in the proximity of the speaker vibrating against the inside of the door. If your truck is new and under warranty, take it to the dealer and have them look at it. Something similar happened in my '13 Corolla just barely under warranty. I made a tech sit with my while driving to duplicate it. They opened up my center console (not door sorry) and put some felt along the wires and it never vibrated after.

Yes, pull the switch assembly up and use felt tape on all the spots you see the dry white powder residue from the plastic rubbing. I solved mine like this. The switch housing is rubbing on the door lining just like the A-pillar and the speaker cover on the passenger side.

I'll see if I can get to mine soon, both of mine do it, but doesn't drive me insane.
I'll make a post about it in my dash rattle/ tick fix thread when I do. I'll let you know.

Did you ever find that PDF on all the suspension Torque specs?

Honestly the door comes off super easily. Just take off the inner panel and look for anything loose or that has been rubbing (white wear marks).

I have fixed multiple rattles with black insulating tape. Works great and cheap.

I'm having the same problem and it's driving me NUTS! It's like the JBL is too good for the truck. I just ordered felt tape and am planning on ripping my interior apart to isolate the vibrations. It's really annoying, especially considering I have the bass less than halfway up. The sound system bumps, but unfortunately so do all of the interior panels....

I was able to fix the issue in about 10 mins. Its really simple! Just pop off the plastic piece that holds the door lock and window controls, and youll see plainly a bunch of white powder where the plastic rubs (thanks again @GPsevinSixx) and from there just stick on the felt.

I bought these [IMG] from Lowes for about 3$ and the issue is completely resolved. So stoked!

Hoping I can resolve it just as easily. It seems like other parts of the truck vibrate from the speakers also - have you had any other issues? I love the JBL and have had it in past Toyota vehicles but never had vibration issues like this. Not even my 13 year old 4Runner was vibrating when I traded it in for the Taco.

Good to hear you got it off. That stuff might work temporarily as they're much thicker. Try this stuff on Amazon:
    https://www.amazon.com/Tesa-Fleece-...88298631&sr=8-2-fkmr1&keywords=tesa+felt+tape

There's this JVCC stuff also for single roll, but I'm not sure about the details on this since I haven't used it. But it is a polyester felt tape.

    https://www.amazon.com/JVCC-FELT-06...88298631&sr=8-1-fkmr2&keywords=tesa+felt+tape

Cut to size and place this directly over the parts where you see the contact points to isolate future rattles and buzzing of the panels. I use the same stuff on my interior panels from my dash rattle thread.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...d-rattle-and-vibration-noise-resolved.462969/

    Looks like this stuff..

I have several rattles. Trying to isolate and eliminate them is like playing whack-a-mole. I gave up.

Same here. There's a "normal" tolerable amount, but the ones I could get to have been addressed.

40K doesn't buy much these days.Shareholder value at all cost and making Wall Street insiders wealthy is the number one priority. If auto manufacturers can save a dollar per unit they will .Planned engineered obsolescence and pre -mature failure is the new business model.

The wife's 2013 T4R has zero rattles/noises. My tacoma more than makes up for them though.:(
