Yes, that does say inner, but assuming it is the outer, is that all I would need? Are they pretty easy to do, any specialty tools? What about the parking brake, how do you get around that?

You have to disassemble the brake assembly to remove the cable to pull the axle out all the way. All you should need would be the inner seal unless you plan on doing bearings.

Cool, thanks, only reason I was going to do the seal was I am assuming I am going to melt it.

That's what I was afraid of on the parking brake, I hate fucking with that thing. I might as well do the bearings at that point though, right?

Skid is done for now, going to add some more supports and gussets down the line. Mofo is heavy, I would guess 100 lbs.

    Nope.

    Installed and ready for destruction.

@NYCO I was able to rotate the lower collars with a pry bar, couldn't get them all the way around due to the spindle, but I could get them facing out towards the tire a bit so the gap is not facing forward.

    noted.

Just seems oddly heavy but that makes sense.
was more along the questioning of the weight. seemed excessive.

I need to grab me a new skid myself.

It is excessive, might not be quite that heavy, 1/4" is ~10 lbs/sqf, I started with a 2' x 4' and trimmed 6" off one end, so more like 75 lbs.

I had a trans skid already, just found a new way to mount it, ended up cutting 6" off it and then bolted it to the new IFS one instead of being sandwiched between the IFS skid and crossmember.

I also used a drastically different way to mount the IFS skid at the rear, I was tired of small, shitty hardware that was getting torn up, so used (2) 3/4" holes that were already in the crossmember and bolted it through that. They do sit down a bit more than the previous hardware, but robustness will not be a concern.
