Pelfreybilt ::: Front & Rear Bumper Options ::: 2nd Gen (05-15)

I'm not usually a fan of white trucks (they look like utility trucks to me) but that one is awesome!

 

Some notes from my hybrid front install on my 2011 -

A Zeon 8 fits without relocating the control pack, but requires trimming the center radiator support, lower grill mount and leaving off the cross bar that he bottom of the grill sits on. If you don't trim anything up from the bottom of the grill the bumper must be set at the lowest position as opposed to being raised tight against the fender lines. If you don't have skinny arms you won't be able to reach the control pack to plug in the controller either.

There is plenty of clearance between the winch and the hard AC lines behind the bumper. My winch is set all the way forward in the tray to ensure clearance. I could probably slide it back a bit more and that might allow less grill trimming to move the bumper higher.

The Zeon 8 and Zeon 10 should fit the same way, according to Warn's website they are the same overall dimensions.

Put the license plate on the bumper before you install the bumper. I didn't and it was a pain to reach back up inside to bolt it on.

 

Put on my new bumper yesterday. Lights and winch install next weekend.

Anyone put a Baja design onyx6 in their front bumpers?

 

Cody, It will fit but requires the mounts to be modified a little, IE bent or cut and re-welded.

No I meant how much do you need to bend modify the tabs on the bumper to mount an OnX6? Looks like the width of the OnX6 and the S8 are exactly the same, at least they are according to Baja Designs website

 

They are not the same. The Onyx has a different mounting bracket size and the cable is larger forcing the mount to be moved out some. We have not tried it but other customers have so we have no idea how much it must be modified.

Playing with the idea of seeing if I can still change my standard rear swingout order to a high clearance. Who thinks I should do it?

For those that are having issues with the reaching the connectors, and don't mind a little drilling, this option worked very well for me.

Just ordered a standard rear bumper and sliders! Starting the clock.... Looking forward to getting them on the truck!
