Missed your "how much did it cost" -- I think just north of $1500 in materials and parts, all labor except alignment was performed by yours truly. Alignment was 179.99 at Firestone for a lifetime alignment deal. Well worth it!!!!!

Really not expensive IMO for the added performance off road.

Tacomas really look good with a mild lift. It improves their body proportions and gives them a better sense of scale. Of course all that is subjective, but Smittys photos show just that.

I did 5100's last weekend. It was pretty easy. The only part that really sucked is the spring compressor I used was garbage. I didn't have any help and it took about 3 hours to do the whole thing. I used the video in this thread. It was really helpful. Watched a little bit of this one too.

Went 1.5 in front (with 1/4" spacer on drivers side) and put 1" blocks in the rear. With the 1/4" spacer up front, the driver's side sits 1/8" higher than the passenger side. The rear driver/passenger sides ar dead even.
The rear sits right at 3/4" higher than the front.

I figured if I went any higher than +1.5, it would look st00pid with stock wheels/tires. I may go a little higher and AAL if I decide to change wheels/tires later on, but I'm good for now.

Use the No Compressor method. Safer than using a shitty spring compressor by far from everything I've seen and other's reported experiences as well. I used the no compressor method and did one side with a buddy's help. The other side he did on his own without me helping to even guide the upper shock mount shaft in....worked like a charm and he did it himself before I even realized he was done. I was still dicking around with trying to tighten the SuperBumps while he did passenger side coil. The Allen Wrench they give you with the Super Bumps is too long ...have to cut some off.

@smitty99 I am interested in everything you used too. I am on my 2nd diff and this one howls louder than the 1st. Did you use the stock springs up front?

I still noticed a slight howl today on the freeway so I have to retract what I said as far as it totally eliminating it. Anyhow I used 6112s which come with new springs.

Thanks.I will take any reduction in noise over the moaner I have now. You said you got 1.75" with your 3 leaf in the rear. Did the 6112's give you more than 2" up front? Or do you still have some rake?

I plan on doing this next month myself but I can't find the specific torque specs for the front suspension, if anyone can point me the way to that I'd appreciate it.

Same here, no issues. Was gonna do AAL but shipping to where I live is just stupid. 5100's and 1" spacer in back works for me

Did you leave your overload in or remove it @smitty99 Wheeler's is just down the road from me, I've been eyeing the same setup you went with.

Hey Beavs -- I removed the O/L as I do not tow or haul heavy very often... BTW I worked with Steven (Stephen?) Crawford at Wheelers.

You can find them in the field service manual, I can't recall where I got mine. It was a mish-mash of specs I pulled from 2nd gen install write ups (which you can find in the Suspension forum under Stickies) and then another set of numbers I got from the aftermarket installation instructions. If you search for Field Service Manual "in this forum only" a link will come up to it.

@smitty99, I sent you a DL link for the 3rd gen before. Maybe you still have it?
