    Hi Mule,

I picked up the same reader and tried several different equations including this one, which is listed on the Torque forum but have had no luck.

I've posted there and was wondering if you had any suggestions?

    Thanks

Well after searching and reading and trying different PIDs I pulled and reseated the module and removed and reentered the PIDs and voila it works. Whew I thought I was going to have to get a Ultra Gauge which is fine, but I didn't want the wire.

Thank goodness for this forum and all the helpful people posting solutions.

i confirmed the obd fusion app is reporting tranny oil temps correctly. the kiwi3 obd fusion combo will continue to scan while in tranny oil temp check mode.

I’m having issue with torque app. It only reads the data for the 1st few seconds after opening app then the displays freeze. The green light on the dial slowly fades away.

I'm using obd fusion. When i tried to copy and paste the formulas, it didn't work. When I input then manually, it did.
And, from what I've read, there is no oil temp PID

Any suggestions on my above post? Even in torque pro - it reads revs but only for about 2 seconds.

This. I used that post and confirmed the values work on my 2015. I even used the paperclip trick to verify. I've been using this bluetooth scanner with great luck https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005NLQAHS/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Has anyone had an issue with the trans temp readings being wonky? Mine will go up to like 290f then drop to day -18f. It never holds consistant temps. I double checked the equation for temp 1 and it checks out so I'm at a loss

    not much yet!

Anybody have any clue if this is year specific? I'm trying to pull the trans temps on my 07 Tacoma 4.0. I've entered these into my torque app and have the BAFX obd reader, but it does not seem to be working at all. I simply get the "-" sign on the digital gauge.

Some of you guys posted 2 custom PIDs. I added both and now temp 1 and temp 2 are reading, but both are different temps. What does that mean?

One is the temp at the pan and the other is the temp at the torque converter. The torque converter temp will usually be about 20 degrees higher.

Did you try uninstalling the app, rebooting the phone, or device, then reinstall the app? re-add the custom pids.

Tried reinputing the pids for the trans temp but they still are wildly inaccurate. Like bounces from -40 to +300

I'm finding the Torque Pro PID very responsive- I'd almost like it a little "dumber" and get like a 15 or 30 second running average.
