dam looked at a few pics on that link. So I guess my stock offroad would not be good choice to take up there. I guess I cross that trail off my list

I thought there was a easy way around stuff lol. I thought you could just take ways around the difficult stuff.

There are some bypasses but most of those aren't stock friendly either.

well I am def not ready to ruin my nice truck. I do plan on putting on some rock sliders but still not interested in doing any damage. I rather do easy trails to nice spots to camp. I have my bed bars on order should be ready this week I hope. Then getting rtt and I am going to start getting out there. This winter has sucked the soul out of me.

Slickrock is fun. Just need some sliders. Maybe skids if you can't listen to your spotter :D

well I almost got stuck today. I was going around the mud and did not notice how deep the side hole drop off was was. I bottomed out pretty good. I had 3 tires on the ground but 4 low was only spinning. I remained calm and thought lets try the crawl control. I have used it before thought it was kinda nothing special. Well it got me right out, I was so happy. Had no strap or any body I know that could come yank me out. I forgot I had the rear locker, not sure if crawl control locked it or how it really works. All I know is I was happy, it wasnt even like a serious thing. I am not about getting stuck alone. I def need some armor but not sure how much I want to spend on my truck as I do not know how long I want to keep it or anything yet.

Two things (and one of them won't be about wheeling alone). 1) Read you manual so you get familiar with how your truck systems work. It'll pay dividends in the long run. 2) If you have cell phone service you can always post in here and someone will rally to go help out. Beer and pizza are acceptable payments ;)

I know how to use the crawl control, but as what its really doing is an other thing. I guess its just censors and what not and figure out what tires to power. Well I dont plan to get stuck, but good to know just incase. I get service just about every place I go. I dont lose unless I get to far out. I also have a ham radio but I could always walk out from the places I go to. Sucks having no one to go explore with.

Post up when you're going and maybe someone will be free to go with you. I've been known to go on a quick afternoon jaunt from time to time. Shit, maybe pizza and libations for dinner on the trail.

Well this was a fuck up because I was just at my shooting spot and saw the big mud puddle and wanted to see it and saw a easy way around but didnt get out and really look, you could tell people had gone around in the spot. I think the water just kept making the hole bigger. I was on my way home and got sucked in. But def need to set a drive up soon. I dnt really know any spots. I do know dog valley behind cabelas in verdi. I want to try make it all the way from there up to truckee where I live.

I'm gonna try it on my bike this year I think. At least see how far I can go before I can't take the punishment anymore.

Nope definitely not. It surprises me because people are usually so proud to be from Truckee. The stars shine brighter there and all.

It's a weird town. Some people act like its the shit, some people act like what it is, a small mountain town that's pretty cool with a big fucking freeway going through the middle of it. Guess what camp in in?

Agreed, would never consider truckee "North Lake".

Ehh not as bad as other parts of Tahoe, IMO. I still think Truckee is a weird place though, with a weird crowd. Different dynamic than Tahoe though. Not sure I can put exact words to it.
