The flip key fob in your original ebay link is now different from the one you have. The panic button location changed, not sure what else is changed. I can't seem to find the fob you have on ebay anymore.

I found this one and bought it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/141447744562

It seems to be the same fob but without the panic button, I'll just carefully dremel the hole for the panic button myself and use the original button. Hopefully that will work.

yes, I have done the mods

Your flipkey looks awesome - but Neneago doesn't sell the flipkeys any more, only the all-in-one keys. If he did another run of your model key, I'd totally be in, but for now, we're making our own.

I've been using mine, made following the OP's guide, for several months solid as a daily driver with zero problems.

I got my blank key today so I began the mod. It took a little over an hour to file, dremel, and glue to get it done, but the result is fantastic.

I actually filed the OEM remote circuit board just 1mm on the sides, a little off each edge, and the board fits into the new fob. I had to dremel away some plastic on the inside also. After that I put a little epoxy to hold circuit board in place, place the immobilizer chip in along with the black key, and screwed everything back together. I'm not gonna scrub off the lock/unlock labels, I never look at the remote when pressing anyway. Also, I decided to not cut the hole for the panic button. Why? Because I never used the Panic button ever in the last 5 years I had my Taco. I won't miss it.

Then I had to take a trip to home depot to get the blank key duped to the original. I brought the spare key that was never used so that no details are worn out.

Any way, the flip key fob works great. Both remote lock/unlock works perfectly. The key turned with ease. So thanks to TJRTACOMA for coming up with mod. neneago's mod is cool but I think this is just as good and you don't have to wait for his supplier to have the parts ready.

If any one else who like to do this mod and get stuck on the process, post for help and I'll help when possible.

One more thing, swapping the blank key out was probably the hardest part. There's a tiny pin that holds it in place, and you have to get some tool small enough to push it out. I must've spent a good 20 minutes on that. But it's all worth it to get an Audi-like flip key fob for like $15 and an hour of manual labor. :)

Derp. I re-read and found the answer in the first post.

Anyway, I got it but the guy at Ace Hardware mis-cut it!

I would do the DIY FOB but both my old 10 year FOBS are breaking so I planned on doing Neneago s set up and pay the premium for the convenience and slick look. I was ready to buy online off his ebay site ($59) and pay the independent locksmith fee to program the chip ($45-75). I could have pulled a chip from one of my keys and thrown it in a flip key blank and saved a bit of money , but I wanted to keep my stock keys intact. And then finally go through the crazy directions on programming the remote lock and unlock system.

But I found he has one of his franchise owners here in northern Colorado. http://www.lowpricekeys.com/

Its not the cheapest but the ability to meet him with his mobile workshop Scion and in 30 minutes have this all done was worth it to me. It was especially helpful because he had to do a bit of work to get it paired correctly. I know I wouldnt have been able to do the fix without him.!! so if you want this done you can call /text Ramiro at 720.999.7507. He trained with Neneago and he does a pro job.
