    I havent found any on tacomaworld so far, but the mustang and grand prix guys have plenty of the same issue. Most the time the fix is a greater rib count which means id need new pulleys everywhere, or an auxilery tensioner near the charger to create more bely wrap on the pulley.

    Soooo.......new plan. I think i will do this in the next couple weeks. Since i know changing the belt is lowering my boost and i have slight belt debris, i know its slipping. Also this option is not too pricy.

    I dont know if anyone here has done this yet or not? Another place does micro machining for the texturing, but i dont think it would last on our aluminum pulleys. Too soft.

    Something i think would be worth a shot.....wish i hadnt spent the money on that damn tensioner now.

    Since you still have the old belt, and or length numbers, do you think you could find a matching Gates or Gates Racing belt?

    Might pick up 5 psi, with a better belt and that coating. ;)

    Well from what i could find, they dont make the gates racicing green belt in a 5 rib. i currently have 2 toyota/dayco belts (one old and one new) 1 dayco belt new and 1 gates gator back/continental poly v belt (new and currently one one the truck) all of them from what i could find are the same length, except for the old stretched toyota one. Which conveniently works the best right now, but could explode at a moments notice.

    I may yank the pulley off the truck next week and send it in and see how it turns out.

    Recently, there have been a few other members whom have reported "lost" boost. They changed to shorter belts and picked it back up. As they had swapped to a 2.85" or smaller.

    Another member @XPOTRPR did two tests. Disconnected the snorkel, and increased boost. "Breathing through a straw" restriction. On his second test, he removed the charcoal filter from the OEM intake, and picked up boost as well.

    Bolded: that's been the primary reason why I haven't installed a snorkel.

    Thank you for the reply, @Torspd. You've likely have already thought of these if not more, but two issues come to mind:

    1. I think @WOODEX M.E. had a 2.85" stealth pulley from the onset? I could be wrong though.

    2. Those solutions, while recapturing the lost boost, aren't addressing the root cause of the loss.

    Belt slippage, since all of the other possibilities were disproven. With the abundance of others having similar lost issues, all regained by a shorter belt, even when just transitioning to the 2.85". It doesn't happen at the onset. Just over time.

    Here is a kicker though. One member installed the Gates Racing accessory belt. It is a little shorter than stock. That alone picked up boost. Figure that one out.

    Ah. Gotcha. Thought that the belt was suspect but not yet proven to have been the definitive cause.

    Shorter belt on the stock pulley?

    Negative. Stock belt for stock pulley. Shorter belt once a smaller pulley is installed. Let me see if I can find the part number.

    Weather has been a factor for me too.. it's finally getting cooler here in Az.. I've noticed I'm back up to a "consistent" 6lbs. Still down on paper tho. I've checked for boost and vacuum leaks... Found one and that helped me gain another half pound.. new belt gained another half pound..

    For me.. I think its more than belt slippage. I've replaced all pulleys and belts. Checked leaks. Etc. I picked up a new Coupler to replace mine.. and I want to check the rotors.. might be losing their coating. Also want to test my bypass valve still.

    Not really. If I experience this issue, I might just say fuck it and go with either a URD MKIII system or swap in a LS motor.

    After running my setup for a few months I have creeped back up a tiny bit in boost, so some of it was belt condition. Also, it may be a coincidence but I found out I also blew out at least one of my cats pretymuch around the day I did the work. And shortly after I think I lost the other one. Those two things could be the missing psi. I never tried the pulley coating cause I'm now in super save money mode. I paid off all my debts , including the truck, within a few month period.

    Less intake and exhaust restrictions, will decrease the boost pressure seen by the gauge. While increasing power output, on the flip side.

    You have that right. I want nothing more than to buy a ucon and 2.55" pulley with larger injectors. But......gotta save. Yeah about this time last year i was like "i need a change". And here i am now debt free. I havent built my house yet like i was planning, but i put myself in a better position for next year.

    Yeah im thinking it was those thing all at once cause now, i cant tell if there is any loss in power at all really. The initial loss i felt may have been part in my head and some belt slipping.
