Another glass company in the valley warned me that it's from the vent system under the right wiper and hood. When you take it through a car wash the dryers at the end of the wash are so full of force that it opens the one way flap that normally is closed and water gets in. I've had my windshield replaced 4x in a little over a year and have had no problems to date. I too use the auto washes cause I'm lazy and now too damn hot.

Well... I anticipation of this when my windshield cracked soon after purchase, I immediately called my dealership for their recommended installer (it wasn't safelite) and had them do the work but they do seem to have a good relationship with them. It's only done it twice though so hard for me to tell whether they just did a crappy job or leaves or something had clogged up the drains. Still I'll investigate soon.

Glad to hear you are finally getting a resolution. OP. I stopped using Safelitte years ago and have gone with a local company. Anytime I have a newer body style vehicle I ask very specific questions before they are allowed to touch my vehicle and the first one is how many of these windshields have you replaced? Best of luck to you!

Any follow up on this? I have 700 km on mine, driven 3 times, and 2 weeks after purchasing it's back in the dealership. I came home from a work trip to find mold growing on the passenger side carpet and water dripping from air vents when I initially turned on the AC. Dealer can't find any leaks or AC problems so they're trying to give it back to me without explanation.

So, is anybody else having this issue with the oem windshield?

I'm getting water on the floorboard from handwashing, but I've never had my windshield replaced.

It's been to the dealer twice for the issue, 'could not replicate' - apparently their excuse for a carwash doesn't cause any water incursion.
I was hoping to get exactly the info you provided (an idea for where to point them). It's got another doctor appointment tomorrow.

They've treated me well for most things, and are reasonably easy to make appointments with, so I plan to keep going back to them. But, if it's going to be an issue that messes with electronic stuff (water dripping over wiring harnesses and whatnot), then I can't really ignore it like I have to with the wind noise issue (I have the new doorseals, they did the kazoo tsb, just always sounds like a window is cracked when there's a crosswind).

It's not. That was the first thing the dealer checked. still dripping away. And, it happened when the truck hadn't been turned on for 12+ hours last time.

    3rd gen.

And, I agree that toyota should be/will be fixing it. I'll make sure to hose 'er down before driving it in. Get it nice and drippy for them.

Took it in after a fresh carwash.

Survey says: Warped cowling (apparently looked like it had been removed at some point before, broken clips/etc).

Its not Toyotas fault, you gotta get Safelite to fix that for you.

If that's directed at me, it's definitely Toyota's fault. I'm not the same person that started the thread who had a replacement windshield. Mine is factory.
