Just long enough to do 4 tires. Was going to move to help another truck and couldn't because it had melted and was leaking.

That compressor is a 50% duty cycle compressor so if you ran it for more than 30 minutes then didnt let it cool for 30 minutes that might explain you melting the hose.

Didn't run it near 30 minutes. Probably 10-12mins to fill up one truck, then a couple minutes before the next even tried to do one tire and it was already melted.

Yeah...I would've understood if I hadn't already known they get hot so we didn't push it too hard, but I had used a friends who had the same setup a couple months ago and literally did 2 trucks back to back without issue, other than it being freaking hot lol. Mine didn't even make it that far.

This is really disconcerting! Please let us know what ARB says since many of us have that same compressor.

I will for sure. Had a buddy there with a smittybuilt? under his hood with about a 2 foot steel braided leader line he recommended adding when I get the hose replaced, just a possible recommendation to you.

I have a 2 foot steel braided leader line as well...the compressor gets hot, really hot, and everywhere I have read says to use the steel braided leader line in between as a few people were having the same problem that you are describing, (again at least in the places that I read).

I wish mine had said the same (maybe I missed it because I assumed I knew what I was doing?) If that is a requirement by ARB they should provide it with the system...

I hear you man....when I first installed it was a bitch where I mounted it...I had to go to lowes and buy a few different fittings and get it routed where I could actually mount the quick disconnect for the tire pump, while I was researching all that, thats when I discovered the recommendation for the steel line cause of the heat. Its in the mega compressor thread under technical chat I think. Eventually I am going to mount an air tank under the truck and put quick access points on front and rear bumpers so I don't have to pop the hood. Sorry you are dealing with this.

It's alright. I hope they will send me a new one, but I can't say I'll be at a huge loss since it's just an air line..

if you visit your local home depot or lowes, go to the compressor area...lots good stuff there! Its generally over by the hand tools and such at lowes.

I hope I didn't freak you out, but good to be prepared. I guess I assumed a "high temperature air line" would've held up lol
