    Stuff. Also things.
I can get it past the passenger seat easily. For some goofy reason, I can't on the driver side.

Once I get a platform made for it, it will basically live back there, though.

ETA: I'm running the 51, and it's been great!

Nah, it was a nightmare when it was empty. Honestly Toyotas are basically just automotive lego compared to some of the old Nissans and Jeeps I've worked on. Hardest part will be cutting the hole for the clutch MC.

I like to use a prybar/screwdriver. I look around the flywheel and find a hole I can fit the screwdriver through, and find a spot on the engine where the screwdriver will catch and keep the flyweel from spinning. Kinda like that comic with the guy that puts a stick in his bicycle wheel then crashes.

about to do a clutch job on a '95 V6, easiest way is pulling the trans out right? How do you get the top bolts off? Do I need to take the exhaust apart? My brother also has some bad seals, probably a main seal, he thinks pulling the motor might be easier to get multiple leaks out of the way while we're in there, might also have a leaky oil pan gasket, theres oil everywhere so its hard to pinpoint. Any suggestions?

Yes on removing the trans. Top bolts come out with a long (or set of shorter) extensions and a u-joint swivel and can be done through the cab in some cases. Not necessary to take the exhaust apart. Rear main seal is right there when you take the flywheel off so no need to pull the motor. Valve cover seals are on top so no need to pull it for that either. Where else would it be leaking from? Anything else could be gotten with a timing belt change or just pulling the oil pan. Get in there and degrease the heck out of it and then you'll have a better idea upon up close inspection - the valve cover seals coat the whole back of the engine and bellhousing in oil on two engines I've seen.

You have to pull the tranny.

Top bolts suck but easiest way is long extentions and then through the top of the shifter with a ratchet.

Yes you need to take off the exhaust, its very helpful to get it out of the way and is mounted partly to the bell housings.

Pulling the motor will be easier to get to all the seals.

However, it'll be more time consuming doing wiring disconnects.

Either option isn't super fun haha

here are some photos from when i did my clutch: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...trail-rig-and-bs.159436/page-220#post-7249826

Taking all the electrical connections was way more time consuming than going in and doing a timing belt / front seal change - the rest of the seals are easy to access or easier than pulling the engine imo and I just got done pulling one. I got the trans out without removing the exhaust - yes I pulled the engine at the same time, but the exhaust stayed in place so it didn't really make a big difference as far as I can tell. The exhaust bracket that comes off the trans has to be removed of course. Worst part was making sure the trans doesn't rotate if you have a 4x4.

    Edit: your lift owns Monte!

Got some time today to start welding up the frame. Cut out the bad section and got that all boxed in. The rest is easy, I've got some steel bent to box the whole frame from the front cab mounts back and the safe-t-caps for the front spring mount section. My OME parts will be here Tuesday so it won't be too long before this is rolling again and ready to drop the engine back in and start putting her back together.

Yes I'll have drain holes on the bottom. I sprayed the inside with Corroseal and undercoating. Probably going to hit it again once I'm done welding. Going to use Sherwin Williams Dura Plate 235 on the exterior of the frame, rear end, springs and a bunch of other stuff.

Replaced the radiator, fan clutch (green hub), fan bracket/hub, fan, thermostat, thermostat gasket, radiator cap, all the heater hoses, the heater valve, coolant, and changed the oil. She should be good for awhile since everything was OE except the fan bracket/hub, fan clutch and fan all Aisin from the Cockauto

I asked a few days ago and didn't hear anything back so I'll ask again - does anyone know what doors are compatible with a first gen extended cab, eg. regular cab and / or double cab? Gonna go buy some doors tomorrow and want to make sure they fit (I'll take some measurements of mine, but just want to make sure there's nothing weird to look out for). The guy I'm buying them from has a bunch of them and says they're all compatible. Thanks!
