any ohioans?

Im in a for a meet. We need to find a place that has trails though.

 

I'm in the Dayton area

 

there was a place in Somerset, but it has closed...was called Painted Rock. as far as i'm aware...the only public areas are in the northeast, ie: wellsville(forbidden zone offroad), and a place called I260 or something near cleveland.

it upsets me that there are no state park OHV areas other than for bikes/quads in all of Ohio...what's up with that??

I just got back from a huge FJ cruiser run in PA. It was about 6 hours away but there were some serious off road trails up there. I'm still looking around OH for areas to wheel.

 

Where in PA? Just curious as I'm heading back to PA to visit family and it's about 6 hours away.

thanks for the invite, and rep to the host. i can't make it this round...will be heading up to Lisbon for a OHTTORA trail run at Wellsville on the 24th (which is, if you care Earth Day, i think ) i'm interested in coming down maybe later in the summer if you guys get together again and i have been trying to plan for a get together on my family's land sometime. we have enough trails to keep busy for a few hours in our woods once i get them in good shape. most are maintained constantly during the summer months and are clear, stock-capable trails that won't pinstripe your truck there's just over two-hundred acres of very hilly wooded land with at least a few miles of trails. we mostly use them for pulling firewood or riding ATVs. many of them are dead ends though due to terrain. i have been working on connecting the two major tracts for a couple years with one...probably 2 mile trail, but need to rent a dozer again to get it finished. we also have a lot right on the Muskingum river with a large sandbar that can be used as a launch for small boats and jet skis. i grew up boating on the river, but the family boatster is out of commision these days. plenty of room to fish though, and a dock to park boats/jetskis. ok...enough teasing...more info as the situation develops. if i don't have something this year...i'm bound & determined to get something together in 2011.

anyways...you all have fun & BE SAFE with the firearms. i would most definately bring a little firepower if i could come.

Yeah, I don't miss the snow or the cold. I love my Penguins and my Buckeys !!!!!!!!!!!!! I picked up a couple of fear the penguin t-shirts for me and my Son. He loves that shirt !

sounds like it would be a blast. too bad you can't come down to our meet, that would be a haul for you though. let us know how wellsville goes. take some pics if possible. have fun and be safe!
