Now don't get all out of shape that i am giving up on my 1st gens because i am NOT. My plan is to make the black 2nd into a daily driver as we have a baby on the way and need the room. I will take my red one off the road and put it away with the intention of bring it back to its former glory. To do this i need to stop driving it in the winter. The hiho silver parts truck will be used to rebuild red and then live up to the cabin as a play truck.

I am always shocked at the amount of rust you poor folks have to deal with. Keep up the good work. :D

I dream of a truck with no rust and no need of rustproof treatment lol when I see guys from the south working on their clean rig and asking if that little rust spot is a problem, I am jelly haha. Everytime we work on our trucks it is with a hammer, torches and spare bolts lol

I am going to put a copy of this post in my other two builds so if ppl were following they can check out my two other trucks and the progress or lack of that has been made.

Man O man salt kills, everything on the road now i would say is not older then 8 years old. People in Newfoundland do not wear out a car or truck it just rusts apart

My first gen friends :) I did some undercoating on the 02 today put a full can of fluid filim on it

    CE9191D0-7F6F-4692-AB33-09C3CD0983D0.jpg 0228C657-1A99-4D72-99AF-5795E9C1811C.jpg F4895389-5AA5-4D5F-BC39-F99E791FD912.jpg

You can see where the tires were

I have a hose attached to my under coating guy to put in the frame and spray.

I think this truck is to the point that it needs a good pressure wash during the summer to get all the crud and years of rust check build up off

I have a set of Baja widetrack tires 32x11.5x15 on Chrome rims that came off my old 1992 4 cyl 22re truck. I know the backspacing on the 4 cyl and 6 Cyl rims were different back in the early 90's but this was with stock rims. Wonder if they will fit my 2002 V6 ?11064802_10155450487065417_3425127638108596897_n.jpg

will 15'' rims clear the caliper? don't know much of first gens, but I don't think you could ever swing 15's on a 2nd gen, I think 16's the smallest. the way I see it, theres only one way to find out good sir

Went and looked at a 2003 1st gen that was in a accident today. It’s a v6 standard 4x4 with under 200000km. The owner said he did a lot of work to it. The truck took a good hit to the passenger side took out Balljoints and broke spindle, bumper, rad, fan, head light fender, frame is twisted and has rust issues, tailgate bent, cab has surface rust box has rust bubbles around the fender flares. I made him a offer but we will see
