I have an 08 Tacoma Access Cab 4x4 TRD Off Road. Im lifting it 3 inches all the way around, and I was wondering what tire size would be better? A 285/70/16 (31.7) or a 285/75/16 (32.8). If anyone has pictures with a tacoma like mine with a 3in. lift and aftermarket tires, Id like pics and the size of what tire you are running. Thanks.

yep...285/75/16, and you may need to do a bit of trimming and maybe remove the front mud flaps.

Thanks. The lift kit come in on Monday (installing on Friday) and I kinda want to put the lift kit on and tires on at the same time instead of driving around with a weird looking lifted tacoma and stock tires. Just wanted some opinions, pics would have been nice. I dont want them to look to small but I dont want them too big either. Im going with a General AT2, (same thing as a BFGoodwrench AT but cheaper). Thanks for the feedback! Gotta go order tires!

I have the toytec 3" lift and some 285/70/17 they claim to be 33s but really measure 32.6. So click my little camera. I removed my front mud flaps and trimmed some plastic fender in the front. If you would like som pictures of what I trimmed I can get them.

I used a razor knife and a drimel, then zip tied the flimsy piece of plastic that would rub when I turned from lock to lock. I'm loading the pics to photobucket right now they are kinda large. I cut the big nob in front of the tire and trimmed some on the inside of the front fender also. There was a little to trim away from the bumper as well but not much. The 285/70/17 and 285/75/16 will be the same height. Not sure about the width.

You can see the zip ties here.

This is the knob in the front cut off. I was in the front of the truck taking the pic.
