I normally run cooper discover stt pros with the wheel noise it was hard to hear the noise at lower speeds. As soon as I put my stock tires on I could instantly tell it was my wheel bearing

Just replaced both my CV's cuz they were puking, I've had the bushing in for almost 140k miles. Took a gander at it while the CV was out, damn thing looks immaculate, great product from ECGS for sure.

Anyone have a removal tool they would be willing to rent out?

The bushing appears to be laminated, with one end captured and the other end where you can see it is two pcs. Does it matter which end goes towards the diff?

Watched the install video, :anonymous:, split side goes in.

Solid end faces out, separated end goes in to diff. Where you at?

That is pretty much what qynla reported as well. I'm the first guy to ever do this outside of one done by ECGS at their shop and the one that does both sides of the diff on the Tacos I've had.

My 2011 is now victim - got under to grease the drive shaft zerks, then inspected the front axels.. the LH drive axel has lots of play right up against the front diff. The RH drive axel has very little I’m guessing it’s the needle bearing after reading here and watching various you tube videos.

Are you guys replacing the drive axel as well?

Like so many drivers, I replaced the tires on my truck with quieter tires and suddenly there was this funny noise...

In the research I’ve done, it seems this could either be a wheel bearing or the differential bearing. Is There a definitive way to know which it is? I’d hate to replace one and then the other...

2010 TRO with 157,000 miles. New to me in May 2015, and I’ve put about 30,000 miles on it since buying it. The sound was barely noticeable with the older tires (appeared a week ago when I drove the truck for the first time in 3 weeks). I noticed it a lot more once I replaced the tires 3 days ago. It’s a hum, with a definite vibration under the driver floorboard. It goes away if I turn right.

Meanwhile is it safe to drive?

    Thanks all!

Yes, there is a definite way. Drive til you feel the rumble/vibe, then put truck in 4hi. If noise goes away, then it's diff bearing, if not, it's something else.
