Any of you guys or gals have a preference of either Weather Tech or AVS in channel side window vent visors for the Tacoma. Big price difference between the two but both are made in the USA.

Do both options mount the same way? The weathertech has a couple metal tabs to hold them in, correct? Do the AVS use the same kind of attachment?

I have AVS in channel, no complaints. My first set ever so I can’t compare to weathertech. I have only had them about 5 months so no comment on longevity

no tabs. They fit nicely in the channel and also have an adhesive. Mine have been on for over two years and have not moved at all.

What's the goal of these. I've seen em a bunch but guess I never really understood what their purpose was.

Crack windows when raining and not let water in, park car & leave windows cracked in the summer so the opening is unnoticed, etc

I live in the desert, but not Phoenix. 105+ is common, crack the window to vent, keep pressure down and slight cooling. Phoenix can hit 116+ on a nice July day

Sorry, I didn’t see you from Tempe, you know what Phoenix hot is. If I can keep interior close to ambient temperature, I’m good. No need to jump into a hotter oven

I make it a point to hike Camelback at the hotest day of the year. Usually 120ish. One year at the summit it was 123. I'm definitely familiar with the heat! Anyone have a black taco w the asv vents?

Finding a tint shop seems like such a pita. I had the dealer limo the rears and now I'm struggling to tint the fronts. Looking good tho! Is that a sport? What do those guards run?

$250. I’ll check with my son , he had the scion tinted in the Avalon area last year. I am vaguely familiar with that area, but they looked good. It’s a limited

I like the AVS, the adhesive seems to be longer lasting than some other brands...I also have a set of AVS low profile, in channel, color matched (silver sky metallic), vent shades that will fit a 2017 double cab. Put them on my Tacoma but liked the truck better without them. they were only on for a couple of days. The adhesive tape is still in near perfect condition and resealed to protect it from drying out. The paint is perfect. I don't have any pics on this computer but will text some if interested. Cost me $150.00 will sell for $75.00 S & H included-

Whats the color on either of these? Is it a grey, clear tint or black?
