This is awesome. You added additional cooling and a 51068 filter. Neato! Is it still working great?

I haven't seen any videos that cover doing it the way that is covered in this thread. But, there are lots of pictures here that cover what you need to know. I highly recommend the sprayer method, easy and worked perfect. Not sure how many miles you have, but if over 60K I would get a new filter and gasket for 25 bucks, drop the pan and clean up the pan and magnets. If you are going through the trouble of a full flush, why not get it as clean as you can?

I used the Castrol Transmax Full Synthetic Multi-Vehicle. Valvoline is good, too. Unless you can get the genuine Toyota fluid for the same price, I see no reason to go that route. For a full flush you will need 12-14 quarts. I went with 14 and had one left over.

Working awesome!!! Truck runs super cool and tranny shifts better than ever. Will probably change out the filter in 20-30k

Use a sprayer to transplant the new fluid into the tranny

Yes, that is the easiest place to connect hoses to pump out old fluid and pump new fluid back in. The writeup at the beginning of the thread shows doing it closer to the tranny from underneath, but the lines up front by the tranny cooler are easier to get to.

okay, so best way is to pump out old fluid and pump in new fluid from the tranny cooler. no need to go under the truck correct? I'm a visual learner...theres no videos or step by step on how to do it?

On my truck I did it through the grill but when I helped my buddy we did it through the fill hole in the tranny.

I would just do it through the fill hole

Hopefully your store carries it. Wasn’t any around here that carried it.

Make sure you do the temp check
