Got caught in a conversation I didn't want to be part of, and found myself busting all the corroded pieces underneath the antennae boot, and lathering it up with JB weld.. My only regret was not putting my beer within reach before I started.. IMG_20180221_190326.jpg
Then filled the boot with some shoe glue and re-sat it approx where i thought it should go... It survived the day..?

I just messaged the local dealer and he said $65 for the base assembly, i did not think this was a bad price almost not worth messing with.

Oh, i figured it'd be more than that, for sure.. I don't use my AM/FM ever, and one look at this replacement guide and I just said nope. Not that invested, but for 65$ for oem replacement you also can't go wrong

I would of said 200$ but as this is a budget build I am going to try and not spend money on It as there are still some big items I have to buy. I will come up with a fix

I could fix as best as I could and then paint it black with white Toyota sticker. Or weld up old one

Thanks for the link but the antenna whip is not the problem, the base that the wip mounts to is my problem it is a common problem. It a mast that is behind the fender and the aluminum fitting that goes up through the fender. I do have a extra fender with mast from the all the Tacoma parts you can carry for $50 day

I will have to go look after supper :)

honestly I just assumed the one I linked came with new mounting hardware hahahaha that's the antenna I would like to get, it is a little shorter so it wont hit as many branches while on the trail hahah

Took the old wheel cylinder apart and one of the pistons was rusted and not moving when the brakes were applied. From now on when I do brakes I will make sure that this is one of the things I check. Had to knock it free with a hammer. I have the tools home to rebuild the wheel cilinder but they are so cheep to buy $20 And in stock at the local parts store. I bet it would be a order item for the rebuild hit.

Spent the day spraying fluid film on the new frame on the 07, when Toyota did the frame they pressure washed all the rust check off. I also took down the tire on the 02 to give it a better coating. After 10 years of owing the 02 this is the first time I had the tire down 9B79EB3D-BB44-4099-9498-ABFE8307B7DE.jpg0991CF73-F23B-491F-9FF5-28E55881FA7A.jpgBA07B6E3-31EE-453E-AA5E-D15649B6E889.jpgFE727354-88ED-44A0-8F43-B4AF5636C8C4.jpg03C6BD2D-3017-4C61-A2F3-824DF865797F.jpgB03D7ED6-FC10-40F7-AEAD-E70FD7B2B66C.jpgE60299D4-F9BB-4A1D-902F-A03C982F8D36.jpgB550E04B-4399-4159-A18C-463701BB1F25.jpgB2AC041E-4372-4BBE-87ED-DAC1C5163CEB.jpg
