They throw much farther than the old Hikaris. Tell ye that much. I personally just don't like the light pattern as much..it feels less filled in compared to the old ones.

I had the opt 7 and they didn't throw down the road at all. I drive in dark roads sometimes and that was kinda scary at high speeds. But I find that the bad thing with LED lights is they all are not as good as halogen when it comes to down road vision.

Yup. Even though I live in the suburbs, I live next to bunch of wooded areas and this definitely lights up the sides/trees where there are no street lights. I would definitely not recommend HIDs in high beams because they take a second to warm up, bad if you're just using them for a few seconds. The only way they're good for high beams is if they're bi-xenon factory HIDS.

Great deal for high beams for only 40 something dollars.

I have been reading LED reviews for 2 years now. The only thing consistent is how inconsistent the reviews have been. Figured I would bite the bullet and try the Hikari. Have no desire to use HID and hate the yellow tint of halogen. I figure, no matter how the throw is, it cannot be any worse light than the stock halogens. I was using my stock fogs nearly every time I drove at night. Now I have the BD fogs so I figure I should getter better night vision with this combination. Will test tonight and tomorrow night before posting my opinion. Supposed to be rainy tonight and clear tomorrow night. I have seen people spend a lot more than $90 for LED's and were disappointed. Very anxious to test them.

Yea, HIDs are not a consideration for me with quality LEDs out there for less money. I've had them, Acura, and the factory versions are fantastic but again, like you and everyone else here, for the money, the conversion from the OEM halogens to better constructed LEDs is the point of this thread and what I'm interested in.

Headlights. I would be more concerned about running out of potatoes, onions and carrots with all that meat in the yard.

HAHAHA good one. When the acorns drop there can be as many as a dozen out there. So ironic too. When I was younger I hunted. Would go to great, and absurd lengths for the possibility of bringing one home. So much time and money invested. I stopped hunting a long time ago. I think they know, or this is payback.

Thank you. I’ve said it before, but I love my HID conversation low beams. Can’t wait to see the HIKARI high beams. Amazon is showing tomorrow delivery! I also upgraded my reverse lights with LEDs and that made a huge difference. I don’t have super dark tint in the front, but it was enough the stock halogens weren’t doing the job.

Night shots with Hikari low beams (3 year old camera phone so pix not that great)
1 just lows. 2 lows with fogs. 3 lows showing cutoff. 4 bright halogens.
One thing I noticed immediately was the wider view and the clarity of the road and signs. New to these so may need to see if I can adjust vertically for more throw. I am happy with them and I adjusted my fogs downward which is also better.

Note the stop sign is fuzzy with bright halogens but clearer with low Hikaris.

I did not see them flicker with my DRL on, but I do not have the Candian model. Is your DRL different from ours?

Sorry!! I’ve been in Durango Calarado since last Thursday on a Ski trip.

There was a post on this thread somewhere recently that someone got those Nineo’s I just can’t remeber who it was.

    Steve,
Somethings not jiving here. Your description lists photo # 1 as the LED and photo # 4 as the Halogen. On my computer photo # 4 looks like it has more light down the road.

I can't see anything here in photo #1 (LED)
    upload_2018-2-26_13-38-33.jpg

I can see the sign and post here in photo #4 (Halogen)
    upload_2018-2-26_13-49-34.jpg

And in general the entire end of the road is lit up in photo # 4 and not at all in photo # 1. Were you farther away in Photo # 1?
Maybe the photo's are backwards? This is the opposite of everything we've seen so far. On the up side those freaking Fogs are Rockin!
The cutoff line is great in that one photo but line closest to the truck on the ground seems very distorted.

I wonder if they are installed correctly?

    Sorry for being so critical.
    Rob
