    Howdy all -

Do you happen to know the model number of the manual trans in the third gens and if there is a breakdown of gear ratios for each of the 6 gears?

    Thanks!

Agreed, Reverse is a head scratcher for sure.

Agreed about the reverse. Also I wish we MT guys could have had the same 5th and 6th ratios to get the MPG that auto guys get.... I mean I believe it would work fine since 4th is the same.
Most of the time I skip 5th and go for 6th anyways.

I wish 2nd was a hair lower. It's pretty awful for slow rolling starts.

Agree, reverse to tall. 5th and 6th would be nice to be more spread out. 6th at 70mph, 1800rpm

Surprising to hear the differences of opinion on the ratios, the taller gearing feels on point and the 5th gear is good on secondary roads and is gonna be useful for towing. From my last manual truck this is a big improvement. I don't have any issues with the reverse gearing either.

If you are towing something or carrying a heavy load and try to back uphill you will find Reverse is less than ideal.

Yeah. Both are quite involved. Thankfully, both are reversible also. I like that.

Reversible in the sense that you can use reverse? Or reversible in the sense that if you get a new wiring harness the truck will go back to stock?

    Both. Ha!

The button mod can be removed easily by pulling the relay and switch wiring and just plugging the cut OE harness together.

Reverse is the main reason for the mod. You have to be gentle with it, since 2Lo is a big multiplier and it is the week direction for the ring and pinion.

    Based on the chart

Quick Calculation for the Final ratio
