curious where you are running them. Seems like passenger side of the mirror is best, but display will be mostly obscured. Could do the remote display which I’ve used on my other vehicles in the past.

Also, anyone have major interference from the radar systems onboard (blind spot sonar, etc)

I had a mount that went around the rear view mirror arm and dropped the display down to where I could see it.

Hardwiring the V1 is quite easy using the supplied wiring. It’s simple to unplug it to put it in another vehicle using the 12v outlet plug.

I had mine hardwired in my car mounted above the mirror with the remote relocate sitting on the column.

I recently sold mine, which is a shame because I liked it a bunch. I couldn’t justify the upgrade cost and all the laser cruise and blind spot monitoring rendered it useless on the highway.

Ahh. Wasn’t trying to be a dick at all. Just saying you might be missing out. And I wasn’t quoting any owners manual- just owned V1s in all my vehicles for 20+ years and know you likely miss out on some warning having it down low.

As for wiring- easy as pie. Buy the product called “mirror tap” that pulls power from either your rear view mirror or your console light. It’s a 6 or 8” pigtail and takes about 10 min to DIY install. I do tend to agree with you about taking your eyes off the road. The remote display is a really nice addition.

You know what is funny- I recently got an iPhoneX and if I mount it on the dash while I drive and it attempts to do the facial recognition to unlock the phone, I get a laser bogey alert. Took me a moment to figure out what the hell was going on!

The problem was my local enforcement used K still occasionally. The Ka was becoming more common but the falsing was getting on my nerves. Plus as I’ve been driving slower as time has passed regardless so it’s less a concern. Plus I’ve got a less noticeable car than before so I don’t stick out as much.

I stuck my V1 just under the rear view mirror using the stock suction cup mount and a mirror tap. Perfectly aligned with the mirror when I look at it in the drivers seat, though off center to the rest of the world.
I have always mounted the V1 in the same position on many vehicles I have owned in 20+ years.

    I'll forgive you

I've had V1 models for over 20 years. good product.

Mine is on suction cups up high on the glass. I didn't want to too noticeable for thieves.

That mirror mount is pretty cool. I might have to give that a try. Honestly, my 10 year old V1 just lives in the glove box (probably needs an update). Seems like the older I get, I become more of a cheap skate and hate driving much over the speed limit. I only use it for road trips now.

I have mine mounted above the mirror on the driver side on the dot matrix. I modified the windshield mount and used 3m all weather fasteners to mount it to the windshield. Fits great up there and its behind my tint strip to keep it away from prying eyes
