Is there a thread that has a written explanation and diagram of the recommended electronic components and electrical flow of a dual battery setup and solar? I would like to learn and understand the theory as much as the practical knowledge in setting up a dual battery setup.

I did find a great thread on member's setups... https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...ts-see-them-multiple-batteries-thread.295653/

Parts of the puzzle are DC-DC unit, Isolator, MPPT... I have very little if any electrical knowledge and I would like to understand how this works thoroughly and what items are required before undertaking this project.

What I do know is the items that I want to add to my setup will require power to run them- "draw" and that there will need to be a source to deliver the additional power requirements and a way to "charge" the source.

The best place to start is figuring out just what devices you need to run.

Do you also need a Inverter to run AC only devices ??

Do they need to run 24/7 /365 or just a few days

Do you need to add more things down the road ?? .

You don`t want to be at the limit of your system and find out you need to add more devices

This is the hard part .

The rest is just simple DC circuits and hardware
