This one is new to me, and I have no idea where to start. Truck is still under warranty so I'll be taking it in but wanted to see if anyone else has this issue. 2017 DCLB SR5

I'm getting a lot of static from the front passenger side speakers (it almost sounds like water rushing through my dashboard) whenever the fan is on in my truck. Oddly, and I can't make this crap up, it only happens when turning left. It has gotten progressively louder over the last week.

    Anyone have any guesses?

Bad connection. Either speaker wire or fan. The try replacement is the fan. Or just drive around doing right turns.

Do you have HD reception for the stations you’re listening to?

Are you charging your phone at the same time? If so with cable or QI?

Is this music from the radio station or from your phone/app?

Could be grounding issue/noise being introduced...are you using an AC inverter to charge anything like a laptop?

I do get HD signals on the radio. Nothing is being charged in the truck. It happens whether the radio is on or off, doesn't make a difference. The only common causes are left turns and the fan being on. Sounds like it might just be a random one off thing. We'll see what the dealer says

Maybe it IS water flowing through your dashboard! Plugged up AC drain. No way you could be hearing static through the speakers with the radio off!

to add another dimension to this, my passenger side carpet is soaked through, didnt notice it for who knows how long because of the weathertechs on top of it. There hasnt been any water on the floor mats themselves, which leads me to believe its coming from up near the firewall and soaking down through the carpet. It's been raining a ton here, so I dont know if there's a leak at the windshield or its related to the fan issue. Dealership appointment set up for monday morning now. ugh.

Your AC drain line is clogged. The evap case is filled with water/condenstate. Enough that when turning left you slosh it and some hits the blower.

Betting if you pull the AC filter it will be gunked up with leaves and debris too.

The leak in the cab is where the drain line fits the evap case, and any external condensation the case may have from being cold.

Highly doubtful it will be recognized as a warranty item, unless you just have a friendly dealer.

You can use a shop vac and fit it to the AC drain line by the firewall, and see if you can break things free and drain the water.

Get the mat out of the truck and let the drying procedure begin. Lifting the carpet at the edge by the door and placing a hair drier to blow under the carpet (no heat, air only) is a good start.

Ok. I don't really 'know' all this, as I'm not there with your truck. However, it certainly has the symptoms of what I've seen before on vehicles with this problem. Across multiple marques and year models. And my initial remedy is free, non invasive, so worth a try.

you were right on. AC drain line was clogged, and the sound was from water spilling out of the case whenever i turned. Sounds like they got it fixed and dried out and are covering it under warranty. New house we just moved in to actually has a garage to park in instead of under giant elms and cottonwoods like i used to, so hopefully this doesn't happen again.

Thank you for letting us know the results. Too many post problems, have suggestions of things to try, but never share the results.

Since that was your issue, you might find the following thread of use. While the 'model' in this thread is a 2nd gen, I'm willing to bet tomorrow's lunch time Diet Coke that the 3rd gen is similar in design.
