Mod's include-- ONE upper left ball joint replacement, many mufflers, lots of tires and oil changes. ALL ORIGINAL. Owned for 13 years now.........
If I could find a 4.56 or hopefully lower, 4.88, 5.29, 5.71, lower the better from another tacoma, I could just unbolt mine and bolt it up. But if it was 6 lug does it have a different bolt pattern for the driveshaft? I would like to bolt up the brake lines, parking brake, driveshaft, everything in this scenario with no mod's.

The e break is set up different on a 5lug vs 6lug but im sure is simple to swap. You would also need 6lug leafs so you can do soa but that will lift this rear way higher then the front, you could also cut off th spring perches and make it sua still. Im sure the break line will bolt up just fine and now 100% sure on the drive shaft but if not im sure you can just use the one off a 6lug truck

I got nothing worthy of adding for the 1st generation, and an axle swap. @5 Lug Fury, IIRC has done a 5 to 6 bolt swap on his 2nd gen rear end, and might be able to report on any oddities that he encountered in his case.

Got a lot of stuff lol
I only went from 3:53 to 3:73 and still want more. The swap was mainly for the locker. As already said buying a predone one from East Coast Gear Supply is the best route for an "Easy" approach
