I honestly never paid attention to the top side before but I don't recall seeing any holes on the top side.

Need to stop this sound on my 2016. What is the Toyota part number for the plugs or equivalent from Lowe’s or Home Depot?

I have whistling occasionally while going 35-45 MPH mostly...seems to happen more when accelerating up a hill/incline. Of course I couldn't make it happen with the service tech in the car for a ride-along. Thanks much for the advice. Used a Lowes 9/16" plug for smaller hole as well as a 5/8" plug for the larger hole. My 2018 Taco was built in Mexico, for what it's worth. I have about 750 miles on it.

Whoops, shouldn't have plugged the larger hole. Still had noise after plugging the one hole 9/16" hole, and the two others were already plugged by the mfgr on both LCAs.. I think I'll try taping over the other holes the TSB doesn't wsnt me to plug, and see if I still have the noise.

Using the plugs purchased at Lowe's described in this thread, I plugged the same holes shown in this photo and have not heard howling since. Success!

I have plugged all of the LCA’s holes and I’m still getting a howl on my right fender side and I’m determined it’s from one of these holes.. anyone else having issues after the LCA’s are plugged? 2A3E02E4-9D5F-4108-A1E9-45932F561C48.jpg427CCD2D-0A8E-4F9B-947C-E73C87EE722E.jpg

My '17 build date is 07/17. 2 of the 3 plugs were installed at the factory. I guess they missed the memo on doing all 3. The one closest to the tire was missing on both sides. Hope that solves the problem.

Once you hear it, you cannot unhear it. Glad you figured it out. I had an Audi Q5 that had musical roof racks at hwy speeds. Drive me crazy until I bought wind dampening strips. Completely different driving experience afterwards

The sound I hear is when I get a cross wind on the highway and at certain speeds. I determined it is with the doors. When I hear it, I press outward onto the driver's window and it stops, sometimes the passenger side does the same thing. Perhaps when the truck was manufactured the bend of the door isn't adequate. I had a 2011 and now a 2016 Tacoma truck and they both do it.

    There's a post on that here - https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/cross-wind-front-window-noise-tsb-update.530653/

I did the 1/4 inch drip line fix and it has helped mine 99% of the time. Occasional noise in really severe crosswinds.

Going to head down to Lowes in a few and get these caps for my new to me 16. The sound was driving me crazy as it sounded exactly like my work van with the wind howling across the ladders on the roof ....

I hear a howling in my 2019 trd ordc at slower speeds. Seems to be coming from the fron . Does not change by gas pedal use. I looked under the front and i have holes in my lower control arms. No plugs visible but maybe i misses seeing them because i was not looking for plugs. But i do have a couple holes on the bottom. The noise is faint and i actually kind of like it. Wouldnt closing off the holes prevent water from draining and therefore eventual rust? I think so. I will keep the howling beast alive in that case. Lol
