    Hey everyone!

Question...should I buy scs wheels F5's or just black steelies? I have a Barcelona red taco and I want to know if I should spend around $700 for scs or buy the cheaper route which are steel wheels. Obviously it's up to me, but I would like some input. Do you guys have any pictures of your F5's? (preferably red Tacoma) Thanks ^_^

You don't have to buy our wheels, but given the choice of alloy vs steel wheels, I highly recommend going alloy any day of the week. The weight difference alone is worth the extra cost. Some of these steel wheels can weigh close to 40lbs each. Our lightest wheel in the line up is our 16" F5 which weighs a hair under 19lbs each.

Light means better braking and acceleration for everyday driving which translate to better MPGs. Just something to think about. Even the heaviest alloy wheel will weigh less than steel wheel at the same given size.

How hard are you wheeling your truck? I keep my stock wheels because they are getting scuffed up. I’m not going to put $800 of new wheels and hit a rocky trail.

I vote SCS because I have them and love every time I look at my truck. But having a spare set of steelies with some fiesty M/Ts is appealing to not mess up your gorgeous, and damn near impossible to replace SCS' after you go into the sticks.

Steelies. They don’t weigh that much more than alloys either... if at all

I knew the F5s are light wheels, I was still surprised how light they was when I picked them up from the UPS will call window.

Stock steel wheel is 32lbs. Stock OR alloy is 23lbs. 9lbs is non-trivial.

Not to mention battling rust issues with steel and alloy wheels are stronger.

I like the look of steel wheels both factory and aftermarket, but 200 a corner ist to bad if you do destroy the finish, or entire wheel.

I was all set to get some RPT1s, but I didn't want to spend that mmuch. If I was younger, I'd be blowing money on Volks, the old me won't let me do it. That and Maryland winters/roads.

A 9lb difference in just the wheel weight on each corner would be very noticeable even for a daily driver.

Here's a good reading from Tirerack for those interested.
