    Hi,

Wondering if anyone here has had their SC'ed tacoma taken into Servco for their TRD supercharger maintenance (i.e. 100k maintenance) service? The quote I received was a little eye opening. Was hoping for feedback on it. Thanks in advance.

The rep did not provide a very clear answer, but some of the things he mentioned were (1) changing supercharger oil and (2) replacing SC belt. I would presume they would check all the other components of the SC system as well, but I don't think he was entirely sure so I did not get a very good answer. The quote was north of $500. My supercharger has 94k miles on it so I'm approaching that recommended 100k service.

Was hoping someone with a good working knowledge of the SC (that may have gotten this service completed to their SC at Servco would be able to provide some insight). I know there is a thread out there on SC maintenance, but I'd rather not screw anything up.

You can go to any shop local to you that services /builds or repairs all brands of superchargers from Centrifugal , Roots or TVS . It doesn't need to be a specific shop like Servco

Most Roots style blowers that need an overhaul can range from $500 to $1k

other items needed attention on Superchargers are re stripping the rotors with new Teflon strips ,measure run out and clearance on the rotors and case and also new bearings for the end plates

Thanks for the feedback. I guess I was comfortable or preferred to go through them given that they were the ones that originally installed the system on my truck when I bought it (and I go through them for servicing). I'm not familiar with other shops in Hawaii that work on these types of systems, but I would be open to checking them out.

Any Hawaii owners out there with a recommendation on a shop if I do not go through Servco?

I can't remember the exact number, but it was north of $500.

any race engine shop should be able to service a supercharger , they're relatively easy to work on !!

While the Supercharger is off you can have the shop "Port" the case and plenum to increase the boost and efficiency , doing this will dramatically increase HP and TQ

I’ll consider doing this when it’s time for rebuild, cost associated with the port and polish?

Maintenance should be done way before 100K
At 100K you should pull off the supercharger to change your Iridium plugs that came with the kit, hope they put antisieze when installing it.
You don't need to be too handy to do all that yourself. Is it making noise or anything?
I've changed the coupler, lubed needle bearings, changed nose cone oil, belt, all in the driveway.
A full rebuild by magnusson and comparable shops is available, but not just any shop can rebuild the unit. And don't try porting it, its not like the posted video.
That $500 is mostly labor, I'd do the maintenance yourself or just cough up the pennies and get a full rebuild while the unit is off.

No issues with the supercharger at all. I'm reaching out to Servco so they can provide me with better details on what is involved in their "maintenance" for the SC specifically. If anything, I'd cough up the pennies at the risk of doing something stupid haha. I'm normally game on DIY modifications/maintenance, except for certain components of a vehicle (such as this).

seriously, its just a big air pump. if you're not having any issues or noises, super easy to change the drivebelt and nose cone oil. you dont even disasseble the supercharger. I'd definitely lift off the supercharger and replace your spark plugs, though.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/trd-s-c-maintenance-how-to.331263/

Don't get that green coupler. Cheap crap. Better to use a spring loaded stock coupler or get a genuine eaton one, they're black.

I wouldn't even let servco change my oil for free.
