like many before me I purchased the ome 887 coils paired with bilstein 5100’s along with the headstrong progressive aal. Even got light racing uca’s. Looks like headstrong will have the stuff delivered by next Wednesday along with my ecgs bushing and install tool I ordered yesterday.

I have never worked on a suspension so if I go as planned I will try and do this stuff myself. I got quoted at least 700 bucks from a lift shop in Amarillo sooooo no thank you.

Any videos you recommend, tools I must have, things I should check- whatever. Like many of you I am nervous to try this but really would enjoy it if it was something I could handle.

Make sure you have big wrenches in 1/2 and 3/8 inch drives. You need the leverage for you bolts and other high tension bolts. Saves time. Don’t overtighten get torque specs

Is there a master list for those torque specs somewhere... in my manual, in supported literature from headstrong with the box? Or just piece it together?

The part the I did not want to take on was installing the coil on the front shock. I assume you had Headstrong assemble the front strut. The rest of the install was persistents. I broke the install into two sessions, I did the fronts one day and the rear the next, added a 1 inch block to the rear a few weeks later.

I have a question about the rear blocks. Do people put the blocks on because they are utilizing stock leaf packs?

For me yes. Blocks were a cheep and easy way to level my truck. My rear springs are mushy. The Dakar’s are sitting in the garage.

Subbed for torque specs when i do mine:)

When they say bounce the truck before final tightening i assume they mean lower the vehicle and bounce on the bumpers etc to seat the components? Or lift and lower your jacks multiple times?

I just got done installing mine 6112/5160 combo. Fairly easy, just took time.

One side at a time. Checked, double checked and triple checked.

    I used these as references:

@Rob Daman thanks for the video, buddy.

DIY SUSPENSION INSTAL THREAD. Very helpful, lots of good links/info.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...112-5160-with-3-leaf-aal-for-1-5-lift.486379/

I took bits and pieces from every video / link.

“Hardest” part was the 3 leaf AAL. You will likely have to grind off the rear brackets on the stock leafs to make the AAL fit correctly.

    Good luck, OP!
