Went out to install my recently purchased Xenon Depot HID kit and ran into some trouble. I got everything wired up and tested fine, but I got hung up on where to mount the ballast and how to bundle up all the wires (holy crap theres a lot of wires to deal with!). I've reviewed the pictures in this thread, but I am still a bit confused and don't want to do a botch job.

    • The double sided tape that came with the kit was totally worthless. I tried to mount the ballast on the driver's side as shown in the post I linked to above, but the tape wouldn't hold. I didn't have any other double sided tape on hand, and I couldn't quite see where else to mount it without using the tape. Does anyone have any pictures of how to mount the ballast without tape? Ultimately I'd prefer to do it without the tape anyway.
    • When I installed the HID bulb into the twist and lock housing, it never really felt all that secure. I never got a positive stop like I do with a halogen bulb. Is this normal?
    • I couldn't see how to remove the windshield washer fluid reservoir. Aside from the two bolts on top, what else does it take to remove the reservoir?
    • Lastly, can someone check out this picture and tell me that the wire on the right going into the connector is not cut? It is right in front of the battery and it doesn't quite look right, so I just want to make sure I'm not crazy because I did buy the truck used.

IMG_20180903_130719141_HDR.jpg IMG_20180903_134814191.jpg I made brackets out of random rafter and deck hardware. I might go the route of using the ground bolts. Might switch to diode dynamics single relay too for less wiring. Bulbs installed with a positive stop. Also my wire harness looks same as yours. Not cut. I hope anyway. Only had 44 miles and I'm first owner.

Thank you this is exactly what I did. Mounted the wire harness on the passenger side to one of the bolts on the power steering reservoir. Lights are so much better than stock now, I am very happy with how it came out.
