Fuel Filter Replacement? 1999 2WD SR5

    I used replace mine about every 60K. Located under the truck attached to the frame in front of the fuel tank.

    Man, I remember looking for it under the truck and could not even find it.

    Crap, some people are saying its under the manifold like a 4 runner, cRAP!

    Although replacing it was a pain, it would have been considerably more difficult without the link I provided you. And no, it is not a lifetime part. It should be changed every 50,000 miles. Can you get away with more, sure, the choice is yours.

    On my 3rz I would remove the intake manifold to replace the fuel filter. Probably not necessary but it made it a lot easier to access. I’d use that as an opportunity to clean some of the carbon build up inside the manifold while it was off. Also the TB as well

    I've done mine (and my Dad's) on the 2.7 without removing the fuel line with the filter. Took me maybe 30 minutes. I did not remove the intake or any other parts except the wheel/tire and the fender seal. It is a pain. I might try taking the line off next time just to compare the two methods.
