It’s been 8months, and I’ve gotten this system tuned perfectly so I figure I’d put the info down here for others (and myself when I forget what I did!)...

First off, the wiring and install all stayed the same, as I’ve described in previous posts. The only changes I’ve made are with X-over, LOC, and Amp settings.

Quick install note regarding the Focal front crossovers in the doors. It was tough to find a mounting location, and ended up having to trim some of the foam from the door trim panel. You’ll see this in the photo.

I initially had the Tweeters set to -3db, but after a while went down to -6db and this made a big difference. They were a bit bright at first.

    Final Focal Crossover Settings:
    MidBass Slope: Full Range
    Tweeters: -6db

The next big change I made was at the LC6i LOC. Originally I was summing the Tweeters, Fronts, and Sub signals (speaker-level from the stock JBL amp) and pushing this new full-range ‘master’ signal (line-level from the LOC) to my JL amp for the Front Doors.

This was a mistake and sounded muddy in the low end. I changed this to summing ONLY the Tweets & Fronts, and sending that to the JL Amp & Front doors... This cleaned up the low end of the Focals.

Lastly the Sub X-over I settled on was 100hz.

Finally I just fine tuned to LOC output levels, with the JL amp input levels, and finally found the sweet spot. This took a TON of trial and error!! Be Patient!

Check the photos for levels, etc
