Awesome CB setup, TRD leaf springs, matching camper shell...more to come some day.
Have you gotten a Pop and Lock Tailgate kit and if so have you had any problems with it?

I don't have a back up camera so I'm not worried about that, but I wonder if the version that codes to the factory key is worth it.

I have a locking camper shell, so this would be awesome I think.

Nothing like having just one key. I rarely use the key since I have it wired into the remote to lock/unlock. It was one of the first things I did to the truck so 5 years and still going.

I also purchased the powered pop & lock and I'm really glad I did. I originally just picked up the keyed one (non-powered) and found myself forgetting to lock it. The powered one solves that. The only thing some people find annoying is the loudness of the lock locking or unlocking. Like a loud *chack* sound. It doesn't bother me. I turned off the vehicle lock beep and listen for the tailgate locking now (I didn't turn the beep off for this, but just something I listen for now).

I had the Pop and Lock on my 2015 and was very happy with it. Sometimes in hot weather it seemed like the plastic would flex a little, but it always opened.

I also liked how it would key itself to the ignition key. It was nice to not need an extra key.

Something they don't tell you. When you stick your key in and turn it to code it, it makes a horrible crunching sound. Even though it's making horrible noises, just keep turning the key. I don't remember how far you turn it, but it seems like it was 1/2 turn or more.

This is true! Sounds like it's breaking.

    None... yet
This was the first thing I did on my truck. I didn't go with the power option, but I did get the coded key lock. You basically turn it 180. Works great. I mainly got it to prevent some a-hole from stealing my tailgate.

i have a popNLock with the backup camera and it's a piece of junk. the handle broke on me and they wouldn't warranty it. had to do some redneck engineering to fix it... if theres a better option out there i would take it.

I didn't break mine but yeah it's definitely not as solid as even the stock handle. Otherwise I love it.

ive had a pop n lock on my truck as well as our work truck. Replaced both with full size handles, never used the lock option having my camper shell able to lock itself.. handle is so much better to open and I figure now that if anyone is trying to break into my truck... theyre going to find a way somehow.. i try to keep valuables in the cab

A few mods here and there and counting....
I reinforced my pop n lock before installation; epoxy the empty cavity on the internal handle and replaced the plastic pin with a aluminum brace. Hopefully it will stand up to normal usage. 2 months and so far, so good.

+1. I installed this one about three years ago, connecting it to the passenger (rather than driver) door lock. No problems, so far.

I swapped the original popnlock with the factory coded one and really like the convenience of one key. I added a backup aftermarket camera on mine.

I've got a color-matched P&L that coded to my factory key. Love it. I've seen several older standard matte black P&L's that seem to have faded out badly from UV rays. My color-matched one looks GREAT, like it was meant to have come from the factory. Definitely worth the extra few bucks. I did have to reinforce the internal components a little after about nine months. Caught it before it broke when I noticed the lock mechanism getting a little loose. I fully agree with many of the others on here that P&L could do well to make components out of metal rather than plastic. For anyone in the know, it'd be worth the price increase to have a longer-lasting product.

I’ve had mine for about 2 years. Was one of the first things I did and would definitely recommend it.

Pop N Lock is a POS. My plastic pin broke also, keeping the lock locked and requiring removal of the tailgate cover to unlock. The handle probably would have broken next.

There was a reinforcement thread started, but never got off the ground.
