‘07 tacoma 4.0 6 speed manual high rev shift

    do all manual tacomas rev high and stay high even if clutch is held in when moving over 10 mph? if you own one you know what i mean.
    unless somethin isnt right. but it seems to me like it is meant to do this. but i dont like it.

    Hptuners allows the rev hang to be deleted or adjusted to preference by tuning the ecu. I've had mine deleted. A fellow going by JustDSM will tune your truck for a very reasonable fee which is what a lot of us have done. MVPII dongle and 4 credits allow repeated tuning or contact said fellow for possibly options.

    Do you mean the ROMS will increase if your are in neutral but the truck is coasting.?

    The revs are very slow to drop when in between shifts.

    That is rev hang. To stop you have to pause 1-2 seconds before you start the shift. The engine is slowly and gradually reducing the injection of fuel to reduce nox emissions. If the fuel is shut off too quickly, the engine experiences a very quick lean fuel condition that creates emissions. I think it also helps with protecting oil levels.

    I know. It is excessive though and it is ecu controlled cause it can be adjusted and reduced

    This is for emissions as said- the throttle plate and/or IACV is held open to prevent a rich mixture.
