No, I am currently working in Medical Affairs Admin, although I did some training this spring in prep for the COVID surge. It’s been about 13 years since I worked in a Trauma Center, loved it while I was there, but now, being in my 60’s, I don’t believe I could handle the long hours and chaos for too many shifts. I did a rotation in a COVID unit during my training and it about wore me out. It certainly helped me to appreciate the hard work of the floor nurses taking care of the COVID patients though.

I'm leaning towards TX just based on the location, politics, etc. but looks like AZ has more job openings slightly better pay. Wanna work in Peds, ED and eventual flight nurse. Not ruling out a VA residency either being a disabled vet figured I probably might have a few extra points for hiring preference. But ya at 34 I'm no spring chicken either, not looking forward to those inevitable night shifts again. Glad you aren't hanging out in COVIDlandia. Swear I lost 5 lbs just donning and doffing PPE this past month in rotations.

AZ has a lot of things going for it besides jobs and pay, there is a lot of public land for wheeling that you just don't have in Texas. I also love that you can be in the mountains and 20 degrees cooler in a matter of hours from the Phoenix area.

Yep spent 5 years in Tucson. Loved it. Just not a fan of 124 degrees 3 months of the year lol.

One of the simplest and most useful mods... How could I forget?! I love mine.

Have to run to the dealer for some hatch panel screws (long ones) since the mountain hatch is thicker on the one side than the oem panel... Prob going to wind up like every Target shopping run, Ill leave with more than I intended on :p

Anyone have an idea of the closest rustoleum spray paint color matched to cement?

Last week I had the truck paint corrected and ceramic pro light applied. The closest detail shop was 3 hours away so I didn't have time to wait around for them to do the 9H. Today I applied some 10H from Amazon. That was a learning curve. Can definitely do better next time but overall not bad. The paint is poppin'.

had a hard time finding Cement Grey, the dealer said there was a shortage in this color so price was higher because it was in demand and Toyota has decreased production due to pandemic so Tacos are high value in market at this time. Will tint the windows this week and update with new pic soon.2019 Cement Taco.jpg

What field are you in? I'm a pharmacist, just moved out to the rez in AZ for a tribal IHS job. You could look into that as well. The pay seems very good (guess is 15-30% above market depending on field) and the benefits are great. Housing is also cheap (basically free if you are able to deduct it from your taxes) if your position qualifies for housing.

Former 10 year vet turned registered nurse BSN. I did see some tribal postings on .gov jobs when I was scopeing out VA openings. Thanks for the tip. Anything beats IL, spent 5 years stationed in Tucson, did like it alot besides the 3 months of the year it was 120.

Thanks for your service! I'm in tuba city, it doesn't get quite that hot here. Hangs out in the 90s. Had a week or two of mid 100s.

It's nice up here because the work is relatively easy and the pay is relatively high. Nursing is eligible for housing so that's a plus. They usually offer nice sign on bonuses and relocation fees. You can rack up a lot of experience here. For people without a family and kids, it works out well. But being 1.5 hours from a Walmart or anything even resembling a city also sucks at times.
