it does not rest on roof, and this results in significantly less wind noise

On the bravo rack, is there enough space between the load bars and roof to slide yakima ski box jaws underneath?

Why hasn’t anyone made an adjustable height bed rack? (Excluding Thule & Yakima) :notsure:

I mean, theoretically the TRUSS Softopper one is adjustable.

I'm debating between the upTOP Bravo, and a Prinsu rack. How is the road noise with the upTOP? Any information or differences/preferences between the two?

From reading this thread and watching the Bravo install video, the road noise seems to be good. The front fairing is shaped like a V to cut the wind and doesn’t touch the roof of the truck.

Road noise is almost nothing I love this rack I highly suggest going this route. You can find plenty of forums about problems / issues with the other brand.

here you can go through this post and find nothing but awesome stuff

    pros:
Customer service is unreal these guys are so on top of it
    Quality top notch
    Easy install
Handles ( you think this would be over kill but I use them so much definitely one of the better features)
Lighting options out the ying yang
Compatibility (I put Thule snowboard rack on it 0 mod needed)
Easy to remove (yes sometimes this might need to happen)
I’m sure there are many more but that’s enough for now

    cons:
people stop you and ask about the rack all the time

I have zero road noise, but I have an Alpha, not a Bravo.

I don't have a Prinsu, but I can say with the Bravo there is NO noise. Even with stuff mounted I have not had any noise at any speed.

Agree with the above. And I'll add that when I bought mine I got two handles at first because I wasn't sure how useful they would be. I ended up buying another pair, and I'll probably get a third pair for the bed rack.
Lighting is a plus, waiting on my order of scene pods to get here, hopefully soon.
Compatibility is great, I've got Rago and KB Voodoo stuff on mine with no need to mod anything.

Awesome bros, thanks. Sounds like you sold me on the Bravo for $525 all in. So you'd recommend the handles and the scene pods? Where do you wire the lighting to? I see they state a 12v storage system, but I didn't see any other information.

If you have sliders the handles are great to be able to get into your roof rack. Even if you have the OEM Predator steps I think they would be helpful. I really wasn't sold on the handle idea until I actually installed the first pair. If you have or plan on running an RTT they are great to have for more stability in setting up your tent fly (depending on model).
I'm waiting on my scene pods, but one thing that sold me on these is the angling of the mounts. Much better to have the throw down at the ground rather than straight out for what I want them for.
On wiring, I routed mine from an aux fuse panel up the windshield channel on the driver's side and then into the rack. Even with the Bravo there are plenty of places to run some zip ties to secure the wiring. Another option is the KC Hilites wire holder. You could run this up the side of the windshield if you're worried about them coming loose, and you can also use it inside the rack if you wanted.

    @TravisMD this might help.

I tucked the wiring under the soft rubber corner at the bottom of the windshield, and routed around the hinge and through a box channel in the upper fender piece to keep it clear of the moving parts and help secure the bottom. Then you just push the wire into the channel going up. I routed it straight up to the front corner of the rack and zip tied it.

Once at the rack, I secured the driver side using the cuts at the front edge of the side plate, and then secured the branch around the traction mat mounts in two places, routing the wire across the front bar in the central channel.

The passenger side is zip tied down as well. Once the scene pods get here, there will be a little more to secure the wiring to.

Awesome, thanks for the picture. That looks great and it tucked nicely.

So you added a fuse box to your battery?

    Thanks.
Yes, I added a cutoff breaker and an aux fuse panel.

All my lights will run through that with relays on the relay holder, and only the switch wires going inside the cab.

Where did you get it at for $525? Even with the 10% discount i still don't see the price that low?

Got ya. I'm freaked out about messing with the electrical at all. But I assume that's the only way to power the rock lights. Was it easy enough to install?

Most likely going to be ordering an Alpha tomorrow and wondering about the fairing cutouts for lights. I don't have any immediate plans for lights up high but who knows what the future holds. How difficult is it to remove and get cutouts done if I change my mind next year

This is the MOAT on fuse blocks. Some really advanced, some relatively simple. Dive in, figure out what you want to do, and find somebody with a setup that does that. Use theirs as a plan.

Just take your time, be patient, do your research. There is somebody on here that has done what you want most likely. You can learn from what people have tried and sometimes messed up. Lots of good info and starting points here.
