2nd Gen Tacoma 4.0L - Procharger??

So I recently stumbled across this procharger kit for the 1GF-RE engines, claiming to make 390 HP. I already have a Magnusun SC on my 2015 4.0L V6 running 10-11 psi, and I'm considering switching to this system and putting the magnusun on my work truck (2012 4.0 V6).

My truck is already has a ton of bolt-on's (see list at the end of the post), and I've been considering a cam, pistons, valves and porting the SC but it already runs pretty hot. I've been checking out the CSF High Performance radiator but haven't seen great reviews for it.

No clue what kind of power I'm making, I'm guessing 350-400 range. But if these kits boast 390 hp with an upgraded fuel system and tune I figured can get much more hp out of my truck with the additional mods? (And also run a little cooler hopefully)

Does anyone have any experience with this kit or can offer insight on which direction I should go here? Another 5k forced induction kit with higher output capabilities or spend the money elsewhere? (mod suggestions are accepted)

Side note: Anyone have any luck with turbo kits? From my research there aren't many turbo 1GR-FE engines out there.

At the end of the previously linked thread, a guy with an FJ just posted dyno sheet with 377whp/366tq with headers, y-pipe, and exhaust. Custom tune though.

I’d expect the magnuson kit to maybe add ~100hp over stock at the wheel.
Procharger seems to be a bit more.

 

I know what you mean, I’m running it on my 4wd and I would love it if the back was an inch lower. Little bit of rake on mine right now and I’m not a big fan.

Anywho, speaking of performance mods, you should get a JFR equal length y-pipe. That along with URD spec-u headers are a couple of my favorite mods.

I've got the SOS kit on my 1st gen Tacoma and I have an adjustable shackle in the rear and I have it set at a slight squat. Not to brag or anything lol

 

Squatting for a better launch at the strip? You don’t have a build thread by chance do you?

 

Yes- I actually I lowered it to squat, put half a tank of fuel in, and a 70lb weight distribution hitch last time to the track. I just never raised it back up off it's lowest setting. I kinda dig it like that anyway.

You might be one of the only ones lol What ems do you use? I talked to gadget about that procharger kit and they said they haven't tuned a ucon to that set up yet.

There are a couple of guys tuned with HPTuners, on this forum, with the ProCharger.

I am using a Haltech Elite 2500.

I also have that Brian Crower stroker kit.

There are a handful of guys using the stroker kit, as well as guys with turbo kits.

 

Right now isn't the right time, but soon to be making another turbo exhaust kit for the 1GR. As well a turbo header for the 2TR.

 

Finally got a response from the sales reps at TRE Performance..

"Everything in the kit, intercooler, bypass valve, supercharger, etc. is capable of making around 850 flywheel horsepower. But you may need to do a lot to get to that kind of power."

 

It can be done.

 

Didn't know you had the stroker kit, I've read a ton of your 300+ page build but probably didn't get that far. What bore and compression set up did you get?

 

Just a little over stock bore, and 9.0:1 compression.

 

850hp with the 4.0?!?! 400 shot of NOS?

 

With enough money and time anything is possible lol looking to build a 1GR-FE from the ground up and (hopefully) get 500-600 hp, then try to find a transmission, drivetrain and rear end that can handle that kind of power.
