    Hey guys,

I ripped out the fancy clips from the top of the frame for the wiring harness.
Any suggestions to alternatives? Was going to go to hardware store and see what they have.
I didnt fix the rust on mine but I reinforced it and painted. Ready to put the bed back on when I figure out wiring clips.

Yes, one small one. I used plate steel that was considerably thicker than the original frame. Mainly, because I already had it on hand. So, I thought "thicker is better anyway, right?". Also, I attached the new to the outboard side of some of the original frame. So, overall, my frame got wider.

It only created one problem: the brackets to mount the original bumper didn't line up right due to the increased outside diameter of the new frame sections. Not a big deal, but something to think about.

Had I been re-using the original bed (I built a flatbed) it would have maybe created additional issues.

I used zip ties for some, and also had salvage yard scrounges that matched several, but Amazon sells kits. Measure the hole in both directions and look for match in product description.

Working on the mid crossmember today. Had to weld a few nuts on the replace the OEM nut because they were all rusted out. Waiting on the welds to cool before paint gets applied. Will post finished product later today.

Fabing the back frame section on the passenger side today. Alittle plasma cutting and welding will make this thing good as new. Should I tig it or mig it is the question.

Nice man! Honestly, on my truck I've been just mig welding all the rust repair and safe t caps. I debated tig welding it but it had been almost a year since I ran my mig and figured with the metal not being perfect it would be easier all around.

I was going to buy safety caps. But added the entire price up and instead, bought a tig welder and a 4×8 sheet of 3/16 4130... and still came out cheaper lol...

I used a combination of ARC and MIG on mine. My steel was 7mm thick, so plenty there to ARC. Other repair areas I have used MIG.

TIG is gonna take a lot of preweld cleanup if your using what's in the picture.

Oh for sure, I have right about 1000 in the safety caps. Now a days it comes down to time for me. Can I make it ? Sure, but with a 1 year old, wife, business to run, my time has become much more scarce.

OP, is the bed still off of your truck? I was wondering if I could get a measurement from the CL of the Front bed mount to the CL of the Rear mount. All of the frame drawings I have found do not provide that dimension. your works looks good so far. I just acquired a 96 reg cab 3rz 4x4 for a it of a different project and am trying to get all of the dimensional queries noted beforehand.
